I donÂ’t even want to dip anymore. IÂ’m 38, been dipping since I was 12 (Boy Scout Camp), probably a few cans a week. College and then the Marines, turned on the dip machine Bigly for me, was doing up to 2 cans a day. Moved to Las Vegas after USMC and working in the casino biz, I was doing a can a day just on my graveyard shift! I was a steady 1 can a day of Copenhagen snuff.
The other night I forced a dip onto myself when I really didn’t need or want one and had a moment of clarity “what the fuck are you doing man? This is disgusting.” So, that was it, I’ve cut down to one dip a day in the morning to help with my “morning glory” and have picked June 1 as the first day in my new life of being DIP FREE.
Honestly, at this point I hate it, I hate the habit, itÂ’s disgusting, itÂ’s gross, itÂ’s just flat out nasty. I hate it, and IÂ’m glad to be here.
Thanks!

Welcome.
I challenge you to switch that quit date to today. You see, the problem with a planned date is that the first of June too easily changes to the second of June, then the first of July, then the first of August... I can't tell you how many times I planned to quit. Only to come up with some excuse as to why to put it off a while longer.
Seriously - dump your can into the toilet, flush the toilet, rinse your can, and throw it away. Now.
Here (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/30602339/14/#new) is a link to your September Quit Group. Go there now and post your promise to not use nicotine in any form for the rest of the day. Then go back there tomorrow, and every tomorrow after, and do the same thing. We make our promise as soon as we get out of bed, before we leave the house for the day.
Get to know the guys in your group, and exchange digits with a few of them. Offer your support when they need it, and lean on them when you need it. Everyone in your Quit Group will have quit at around the same time you have, and will be going through the same things as you are. My digits are just a PM away.

YouÂ’re right. I did just that. Thanks man!

Great idea to bump up that quit date! You are right it is disgusting and nasty and on top of that it controls you. It is not a habit, it is an addiction and we are all addicts. Quit here one day at a time and take your freedom back. You will never regret quitting.

I feel great, IÂ’m getting the Fog and the cravings, but I feel fantastic. This is just what I needed here to let this out.

Embrace it. This is going to be the last day 1. Right now it doesnÂ’t suck... but how many times have you gone 24, 48, 72 hours only to be right back where you were? She knows... she is waiting outside for you doing push-ups in the parking lot. Question is are you working out just as hard to be ready?
-
I just stepped on her dick!!! IÂ’ve never felt like this going into this. IÂ’m so mad at dip, and disappointed in the time, money and energy I put into dip. And then it hit me, IÂ’ve never seen an old dude out there dipping, you know why? Because there arenÂ’t old men out there dipping! TheyÂ’re all dead! ItÂ’s a dumb pathway, and going into it the same way as I have always done or a lot of people for that matter, thatÂ’s why I wanted to change my attitude for it. Blessed that I had a moment of clarity.
I like the craving coming and knowing that my mouth is now healthier because I didnÂ’t take that dip right after lunch like I always did. You fuckers know what IÂ’m talking about, and thatÂ’s a delicious dip right after lunch. Nope, not this time, FUCK DIP!!!
-
Quit one day at a time. Each new day is your new life and a new victory. Embrace the pain and new found freedom. Wake up each day and post your promise. You can do this, one day at a time. Go Caps!!
-
Brutal! Ahhhh, damn brutal. I can feel the veins in my arms and legs pumping blood each pump, begging for dip!
I want to go to the gym after dinner to work it out of me, but I feel so weak at the same time.
Water helps a lot, probably the single best thing to subdue the craving so far. Not sure how the community feels re: marijuana, but thatÂ’s helping as well.
-
Fireballs and sunflower seeds were my go to... Stay quit. ODAAT One day at a time and NAFAR never again for any reason. Nicotine is worthless dog shit.

Caps play hard, and are a very disciplined team, more than VGK...however, we have the
WILL to win...and Fluery ?

IÂ’m 33 with a family, dipped for about 18 years. Thought it was cool until I came here and realized how much it consumed my life. I have had my struggles and still will. But I am learning I can love life without dip. This week I am going fishing and golfing without dip for the first time. I use Smokey Mountain and Hooch as alternatives. I chew gum and seeds and jolly ranchers. As long as I donÂ’t put the cat shit in my mouth I win the day. I have had anxiety, depression, insomnia. ItÂ’s been a shit last few months. It is getting better and I live ODAAT! I am finding out that I love living ODAAT. My relationships are growing stronger with everyone around me. Wife, kids, family! PM me if you need some digits!

38 year dipper here. This shits not easy. ItÂ’s easier to quit crack than nicotine. ItÂ’s gonna get really hard, dig in with both feet. DonÂ’t give that bitch an inch she will grab your ass and have you sucking that nasty shit again. The best way filor me to stay quit is to look at my grandkids and realize how much time I wasted on dip instead of spending it with my kids. I read stories on here where people with cancer beg people to stop. Guys like traumagent stayed very brave and died with his honor and dignity. Never complained but instead insisted on posting roll EDD! (Every Damn Day) 48 hours sitting in a chair with a chemo dropper! Is that something you want your kids to go through? Not trying to scare you, I donÂ’t play that shit. IÂ’m a straight shooter, I call like I see it. Look at those kids real closely and think do I want another man raising my kids. Remember youÂ’re never alone here. Gather numbers quickly, make many friends and post your damn promise, early EDD! IÂ’m a pm away and I choose to quit with you today! Congratulations on one of the best decisions youÂ’ve ever made.
P.S. You being a marine I know your word means something, so when you post in the morning, youÂ’re giving over 30,000 Ktc members your word.... Quit on!

Nice job BubbaM, thanks man, IÂ’m looking forward to feeling much better.
Yes, it really does consume your life. It constrains so many things you do, and I didnÂ’t even realize some of them. There was a guy on here talking about how he drove through a drive-thru to buy a cup of soda just to pour it out to spit in the empty cup! IÂ’ve fucking been there!! What kind of maniac does that?!?!...me. What an asshole.
This forum is helping me a lot, IÂ’ve written something every time I get a craving, and itÂ’s helping me deal with this really well.

I swear I can feel the blood “searching” for the nicotine as it flows through my body. It goes in waves through different parts of my body. Kind of eerie but cool as well.
I feel completely worthless man, I couldnÂ’t be held accountable for anything this evening, zero energy. IÂ’m starting to see what freedomÂ’s IÂ’ve striped myself of. Going to sleep at a decent hour hasnÂ’t happened in years! IÂ’m only a day deep. Progress. Jump from activity to activity.

Vegas, you can do this if we can. I had that same moment of clarity you're talking about. At the time, I was about to put a dip in, had a can plus with me at work and the remaining 3 from the roll at home. I dumped it all that day 303 days ago. Reach out if you need anything, I'm just a pm away, and us MAF fans got to stick together. #nocup4ovi

Oh man, I have to tell yÂ’all, I slept like a damn rock last night, for being day 2 but I looked at last night being night 2 (its my post and schedule so let me roll with it) and I passed out early.
I feel amazing completing the first day, I realized this morning that I donÂ’t need to wake up and run downstairs to put a dip in and take the next hour to read the news on the throne with a dip in.
I am seeing the constraints that dip has put on me, IÂ’m understanding the freedom aspect and that by itself is very motivating. Being free and having freedom.

Stay vigilant Vegas. You have the right attitude but the nic bitch is a crafty one. She's gonna hunt you down like no other. If you have what it takes, then you can kick her right in the ass. I cannot tell you how many times I told her to fuck off while passing a c-store or getting a gallon of milk.
3 things will help you succeed: 1). Post roll daily 2). Honor your word 3). Be active in here (KTC)
I quit 1,553 days ago and feel great. I know for a fact that had I not found this place, I would have been back on the can after day 2.
Keep on kicking ass.

She is a bitch, a nasty, vile, smelly, disgusting, ugly and vicious bitch. Did I mention I fucking hate her?
This forum is a blessing for me, I come here when I get a bad craving and just RANT!! It’s helping me more than anything else. Can your family help? Not really. Do sunflower seeds help? Not really. The “tricks” only make you feel like they help, but writing this stuff out with guys that have been in the trenches is such a release for me.
Fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worthless, oh man, you are fighting a massive fight right now. You are winning too. Mindset is a very key part of this battle, so every time you start to feel down or lost, remember... you are winning at something that only the most bad ass people can win at.
I'll be in Vegas in a few weeks. Maybe I can buy you a drink when I'm there to celebrate your freedom?
Enjoy the winning brother. No pain, no gain. Lots and lots and lots of gain ahead... you won't believe how much life you will be gaining as a result of quitting.

Oh brother the fight is real today, IÂ’m only focused on today though, I tried looking down the road a little bit earlier today and I got caught thinking about dip. I just want to get through today, and go to sleep tonight, thatÂ’s all I have the capacity for. Just today, get me through to dinner time, then bedtime and IÂ’m zeroing on that.
This site is HUGE for coming here right when the craving or a habit kicks on. Like right now after lunch you fuckers know what I mean?
-
I feel fucking great.
-
Keep fighting! Odaat! ThatÂ’s how we all have made it to where we are now. Stay focused, read everything you can on here. Get you some fake dip, it can save your ass. Hopefully you have numbers, several already. The reading helps. Go start a conversation in your group, remember most of the guys and gals are going through same thing you are. Man thing to remember, youÂ’re in charge and only you can stick that shit in your mouth again. If someone holds you down and pours it in your mouth or the wind blows iit in your mouth when someone opens their can let us know. WeÂ’ve heard those before. Damn proud to quit with you today!

I LOVE this intro. You know why? Because, Vegas, you have learned early on something so incredibly important: brother, you have to learn to HATE this shit. Hate it for everything it has taken from you. Hate it for everything it wants to take from you. Hate it for materially REWIRING your BRAIN and rendering you its bitch. This poison has literally changed the composition of your brain. Think about that for a moment. It has high jacked your brain and it wants you on your knees. Seriously, outside of dip...would you allow ANYTHING else to do that to you??? I'll go out on a limb and answer that: Hell no.
I always urge everyone early on in their quit to read as much as they can about nicotine and the addiction process. Because once you understand how nicotine has affected you physically (i.e., really see it cold and clinically), the easier it is to hate. The more you hate it, the easier it is to stay QUIT. So much easier. Go toFacts Figures (https://www.killthecan.org/facts-figures/) section of KTC and read and read and read. Hate it. Keep hating it. Don't allow yourself to romanticize all the "good times" because those "good times" were a pack of lies.
I really want to thank you - because reading your intro has totally reinvigorated my quit. PM me for digits if you want more accountability.
Day 678 and proud to be quit with you today. FLLIP

Hell yeah, thanks FLLip! It has rewired my brain. I do hate this shit, for everything you said and more!
IÂ’m not doing fake dip or seeds, no offense to anyone but it is my personal opinion. I know I look like a total asshole douche bag when IÂ’m driving around or working and SPITTING into a plastic water bottle. How stupid looking is that? And I donÂ’t want to do that with fake dip or seeds, then it back to the nicotine still owning me! I have to still spit into a water bottle spitter? Fucking sounds miserable, and it looks disgusting! All because of dipping. No sir, IÂ’m done looking like an asshole.

Really enjoying your Intro and your success! Keep at it man!
However, GO CAPS GO!

I watch this episode of 60 minutes at least once per year, I think he is brilliant. Pay attention to what the team is saying right after they cut from the intro and theyÂ’re about to take the field. What they are saying is the absolute roadmap that I have taken going into this, and for every day I face. Saban is right, the mindset has to be there.

Day 3, feeling great this morning, IÂ’m sleeping like a rock at night, havenÂ’t gone to bed this early in years. Waking up before sunrise is cool, but not necessary ?.
I can’t believe the amount of time I have now, I NEVER would have thought about how much time I put into dip. Not once would this have crossed my mind as a reason to stop dipping, but I have so much more time in the day now. Hell its 615am here and I’m done with everything I “used” to do in the morning.
The freedom from dip is so intoxicating, itÂ’s now such a driving force for me.
-
Conclusion of day 3.
I feel really good, the afternoon and eveningÂ’s are coming very easy for me.
The mornings are my crucible, but thatÂ’s why I rage on here. A few of those, pop a couple of drops of Black Pepper Oil under my tongue and IÂ’m surviving the mornings.
Guys/Gals, the hate is so strong in me about dip, the more IÂ’m seeing how much it took from me the more fired up I get.
I know some of you are struggling and I understand and empathize with you, but IÂ’ve done this quit for one person only and I truly believe thatÂ’s why IÂ’m not struggling with this. IÂ’m thriving from this, IÂ’m seeing all kinds of stuff I never saw before.

Day 4, bring it bitch!

Not sure about you VGK but day 4 hasn't been as bad as the last 3. Glad you're still going strong. I'm feeling good too my man! Life is so much better with that shit out of my life.

Dude youÂ’re doing amazing brother. Keep up the strength, be proud like me to be 4 days Quit.
With an attitude like you have, we will crush this. Great to hear your success my man.

Day #5 and the mornings have been harder than the evenings for me, once I get past lunch IÂ’m on the home stretch. This morning was different, I felt no cravings or urges, I just feel great!

Everyday is a different battle. I am forever grateful that I joined this group. Every person on here is different and every quit is different. I let dip whip my ass for almost 25 years, and now I get to whip its ass.
Find your reason, one guy I saw was bitching about how much money it cost him, great! That was his driving force, for me I realized how stupid I look and how nasty it really is. Each of us have our own reasons, and each reason is important, just find yours and make it all about you. Where else can you go online and be SELFISH?!? Nowhere, except right here. Forget the wife, kids, mom, dad, blah blah blah. This site is for you and only you, because you and only you can beat dip.
Be selfish, be angry, be pissed off and use that as your tools to beat your quit.
Go Knights!!

Day 7 one week. Well technically tonight will be one week, but now IÂ’m not marking days...IÂ’m marking weeks. IÂ’m not having the morning cravings that were coming after me for the first few days.
I forgot to mention how much IÂ’m brushing and flossing my teeth. ThatÂ’s seemed to help me with wanting to keep my mouth clean...away from that shit I used to put in there.
-
Day 9, letÂ’s get some quit!

Excellent update dude!
Exercise is a great way to get your mind off cravings as well. Soon, food will start tasting better. Potato chips are always tasty. When you don't have burned taste buds from tobacco, they are even tastier. Beware of gaining a few lbs.

Yes! Have to watch the snacks for sure.
Wanted to ask anyone as well, the last two days my jaw and back teeth have been hurting. Anyone else experience that? IÂ’m guessing that at night during sleep some type of biological process is happening and IÂ’m grinding my teeth.
Any insights?

Very common. Give it a couple of weeks.
All sorts of changes are going on in your brain. It is like puberty without the hair. Lol.
It will get better.

WhatÂ’s up bitches, havenÂ’t posted on my intro in a while, thought IÂ’d give an update.
Feel great!
Keep up the good quit my men!
