Hey everyone, I'm on my second day without a dip. I think I'm starting to feel a bit of the fog already if that's possible, maybe just a bit of anxiety. What I can't stop feeling though is good about it all. Is this a side effect of quitting? I'll take two. I'm having a few headaches, pains etc but I do feel very optimistic about the future. It's a long road ahead and i'm sure I'm not at the bad part yet but I feel lucky to be feeling good today without any dip, finallllly!

Welcome to the best decision you have ever made. The fog is real and it will come and go. Just one of the side effects, but it will get better.

Thanks! i hope this forum is as helpful as others have made it out to be! Also i'm thankful for being able to talk about this experience without the slogan "rehab is for quitters!" being yelled my way from my buddies. haha. Only thing thats hurting me right now is the damn bruins are 0-2 in the playoffs. PICK IT UP BOYS.

REHAB IS FOR QUITTERS!!
Actually I would consider that shouts of acclamation. It takes real courage to man up to a problem and face it head on, be it nic, alcohol, or other drugs. The folks belittling you feel inadequate next to your quit, cause they know you are doing what they do not have the courage to.
Peace,

Zero-Welcome! Unless I missed it I didn't see your name in Roll Call. If you haven't already done so go to Quit groups, find July 2011 and post your name in Roll Call. There is a link at the top of each thread that tells you how to post. If you need any help please PM me and I'll give you my cell number. I am on my Day 4 Quit and I would not have made it without posting Roll Call. When you post you are giving your word that you will not use nic for that day. Post Roll Call and honor your word. We are all Quit with you. I had a lot of fog on days 2 and 3. Much more than today but I am still not clear headed at all. Today I posted Roll Call and today I am Quit with you. Peace

The first two days didn't seem that bad, on day 3 I feel real anxious or fidgety almost. Primarily in my left arm, it feels like it can't get comfortable. Had this feeling a few times yesterday but it quickly subsided, feels like its here to stay today.

yeah it sucks balls...if it was easy everybody would be quit. Like most things quit related it will pass in time. Just remember you will never have to go through this again as long as you don't put that shit in your mouth anymore.

That movie's hilarious. I am on Day 5 and of the 5 days so far Day 3 was easily the worst. No sleep, fog, cravings. I hope I always remember just how bad Day 3 sucked. I am Quit with you. Our July 2011 group has a lot of great Quitters in it. Let us know if we can help. Today I posted Roll Call and Today I am Quit. Peace

Way to post Roll Call. We are Quit with you. I am closing out my Day 5 Quit. I posted Roll Call today and today I am Quit with you. Peace

Most of you were probably like me with a dip in for the full 18 holes. For those of you who quit, how hard was the first time golfing after quitting? Did your game suffer? Not really important just looking forward to a nice peaceful day out on the course this weekend.

here is a list of places/activites where I used to dip
golfing
walking
sitting at my desk
driving in the car
taking a shower
taking a shit
cutting the grass
flying in a plane
with a cat in a hat
with a fox in a box
cleaning the house
watching tv
sitting on the beach
swimming
fishing
camping
sometimes sleeping
One of the biggest parts of the quit is retraining your brain. Slowly dip free will become the new norm. Funny thing is I can do all of those things above just as well without dip...despite what that nic bitch told me for many many years. Just takes time and determination.

Haha, i love the middle couple dr seus references. I was more curious how my temper, which is most certainly shorter now than it was when I was a user, would be during my first round of the year. No self control, no ball control right.

For the first time since I quit dipping I hit the links this past Monday. My game wasn't ever any good so I couldn't blame quitting for my poor play. Suprisingly I did not have a single crave out there. Had sunflower seeds and used them here and there, but never even missed it for the most part. That was great.
FYI I am 42 days into my quit.

Beautiful, that's what i like to hear. I was hoping the serenity on the course had some sort of calming effect. Thanks for replying boys, I appreciate it.

Zero--Golfing has been the absolute hardest part of my quit. I play 2-3 times a week, and take it pretty seriously. Through 111 quit days, the biggest crave for me comes at the golf course. Day to day, i don't use the fake stuff at all, but when I'm playing golf, I use it like a fiend! Keep that or some seeds with you, and you'll be just fine. Enjoy yourself and the spring weather...

Good Advice. Hoping to make the inaugural outing on Tuesday 4/26/11.

Zero-Is your left arm getting better? I have some odd things popping up like all of a sudden I can smell things very strongly but I'm not sure how nicotine plays a part in that? Oh well, had a really good day of Quit (Day 7) Quit with you. Peace
