My name is gemcdonald8319 and today I am making the choice to quit chewing. Every day I wake up and see my daughter and I want to make sure I try to live as long as I can for her -- where dip does not kill me. I look forward to starting this long journey.

Welcome. Just know that you're not alone. I have 2 little girls myself and they are without a doubt, my main motivation to quit.
Post roll everyday and ask for help with anything if you need it.

Welcome and congrats on making the decision to quit. I understand the desire to be around for your kids, but make sure you are doing this for you first and foremost. PM me if you need a number.

Great choice, welcome to the rest of your life. Here are a couple of things that I would like to point out to you though:
1 - quit for you and you alone, let everyone enjoy the luxury of your being around longer
2 - post roll daily here's How to Post Roll (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=50) post with your quit group Pre HOF July 2014 (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=9756)
3 - meet fellow quitters and exchange phone numbers, this will become more valuable to you than anything else
4 - get family buy in and support, here is one helpful document Spousal Support (http://www.killthecan.org/community/spousal-support/)
5 - read the stories here
6 - focus on today only, never tomorrow, or in a week or anytime but today
7 - find an alternative and have that alternative with you at all times (fake dip, candy, lots of water)
P.S. The above underlined and Bold words are links to other places on this site (all safe).

Pinched is a wise man...read read read read....look at pictures...one day at a time my friend...i'm on day 8 and i'm still not quite to one day at a time...i'm more one 1/4 of a day at a time...sometimes early in the quit you can't even think about the end of the day...sometimes you got to focus on the next minute..next hour whatever. You can only control right now...not yesterday, not tomorrow, but right now.

Welcome to the best decision of your life. I would like to piggy back on what Slinger has told you. It is great that you want to quit for your daughter but you have to quit for you first. Quitting for someone else is motivation but the problem with motivation is that it is generally short lived. Take time in YOUR quit invest into building your foundation and making it strong. I am in the July 13 class if you need anything PM me.

One day at a time, brother. Failure is completely unacceptable. Drink the punch.
Reach out to people and make a few friends.

Quitting every day with you! Great decision - Bronc (dad to 7 yr old girl)

Welcome! There is no doubt you have made the right decision. The road is not easy, or for wimps, but that's what KTC is for. Quit on and let me know if I can help.

I quit for my wife and daughter for 34 years and never could make it happen, not because I didn't love them but because my need for a fix to satisfy my addiction was stronger. Finally 2 years ago I realized I needed to love and care enough for my life to quit. (I also have the new motivation of 2 wonderful grandkids).
Don't look at this as a long journey, it's not. It's one day! Quit every TODAY! it took me awhile to forget yesterday and tomorrow, but that is something you need to do.
