Title: 4 Year Dipper / 11 Days Free
Post by: ryank3325 on August 05, 2015, 03:52:00 PM
Hi All- My name is Ryan and I'm addicted to chewing tobacco. After 4 years of sneaking around the office with a dip in my mouth, struggling to get a good night's rest, having random heart palpitations, and generally not taking very good care of myself, I've decided to finally quit dipping once and for all!

So far, I'm on day 11 of my quit and I couldn't be happier with my progress so far. The first 3 days were BRUTAL! I probably slept 12 hours a day and even called in sick on the 3rd day to deal with the massive headache I had. Since then, each day has gotten progressively better. My concentration level still isn't great but at least I'm starting to get some of my energy back. I have a long way to go before I feel "normal" again but I know that I don't ever want to go back to that false nicotine-induced blur of a world that I was living in before.

I've tried to quit on a number of occasions in the past and it's typically somewhere around the 2 week mark that I give in to the cravings. "It's not that big of a deal", I'll say to myself. But it is a BIG deal, one that I need to nip in the bud now! I'm hopeful that with the help of this community, I can stay on the right track and see this quit all the way through.

I look forward to speaking with each of you and hope that we can help each other on this journey.

Best,
Ryan

Welcome Ryan. First think you'll want to do is go here: topic/11248831/95/#new (http://forum.killthecan.org/topic/11248831/95/#new)

That's your quit group. You guys are all around the same days quit, so you will go through your quits together. You will post roll with them every day. Posting roll is your promise to yourself and the other members of your group that you will not use nicotine in any form that day. All you have to do after that is keep your promise.

You seem to have a good grip on what you want to do to this addiction, and I commend you for making it 11 days on your own. You don't have to do this by yourself any more. You dipped alone, we quit together. The accountability and the brotherhood you will soon come to know here is an invaluable tool to making this your first and only QUIT and not another temporary stoppage.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask anybody around. We've all been exactly where you are, and no offense, but we have no intention of ever being back there. We want to make sure you get to that point as well.

Quit with you today bro.

King

Just one minor tweak ^^^^. Nice job posting roll. Now read everything you can on the site, intros, words of wisdom, HOF speeches, etc., it will exponentially improve your resolve to quit.
