I was searching on google for a site that has information on quitting snuff. I started dipping when I turned 18 in college, and have dipped on and off ever since then. (I'm 24 now) I never really thought of the severe consequences of snuff until I started researching the long term effects that could cause tooth loss, gum disease and even cancer. I quit smoking a while back, and then picked the can back up. I fucking hate nicotine, and would never have even touched it until I went to college and started hanging out around the bar scene and drinking on the weekends. Snuff became an occasional thing, but due to the sometimes stressful nature of my job, I started dipping everyday at work. My buddy at work dips constantly, so it doesn't make for an easy quit. I was bumming around this week and decided to do what was best for me. I decided to give life a shot without addiction, without nicotine, and without a deadly crutch to fall back on when times get difficult, or things don't fall my way. I can't say I'll never have a pinch of snuff again, or a cigarette, but I am trying to get rid of the addiction before it gets rid of me. I'm glad I found this forum, and the thousands of member stories on here are very inspiring. I haven't had a chew in 4 days, and I can say I don't miss it all that much. Hopefully I can continue on without it.

Welcome Tex!!!! I'm from the panhandle myself, you will meet a lot of fellow Texans on this site. The tobacco industry has a major grip in the Lone Star State.

Hey Texas I doing the same. Chew has controlled my life for over 20 years. I applaud you for making the wise decision at 24, I would do about anything to be able to go back in time and be able to make that decision. But the most important thing for you and I is to just quit now and begin living
