Cward - welcome! JGLAV is one bad ass quitter, about to hit 500 days. A perfect example of when one commits, KTC will offer success.
BROTHERHOOD - you get in your quit group and and from vets
ACCOUNTABILITY - you get in your quit group and the vets like us keep you accountable
SUCCESS - is the end result - period.
500 days ago we were just like you. 100%, completely just like you. We pushed through the first week, through the for weeks, though the craves and dip dreams, through the many triggers and cravings... but one thing for certain:
Jglav, me, stranger, KingNothing.... ALL of us will tell you the same thing - we are NOT cured and we will always be addicted. Now we are recovering addicts, and happier than hell. To a man, all our lives are 1000 times better than when we were slaves to the can.
You'll hear this alot here: ADDICT? - Yes SLAVE?- No more
You CAN do this bro. The best part of KTC is the brotherhood in my opinion. When you join the quit group (above), get to know your fello members, exchange #;s, send texts to see how things are going... you are building a bond
All these guys are going through the same hell you are at the same time you are, simple as that. Vets like us bop in every now and again and pay it forward or pay back, etc... and you know what? That keeps me quit. Helping newbies get settled.
This will be hard, but you can do it. PM us (INBOX in upper corner) with any questions....
Hang tough bro, dont let the bastard win.

Pretty much, the withdrawal sucks until it doesn't. It's different for everybody, but the first three days are the worst, and after 7-10 days the fog begins to lift, and life begins to return to normal.
Drink a lot of water to help flush the nicotine out. If you're into exercise and working out, do that. I chewed the hell out of sugarless gum.
If you can make the time, read the hell out of this forum - the HOF speeches, and the words of wisdom. Read the hell out of the main KTC site. Learn as much as you can about what you're going through. Knowledge is power.
When you feel like raging, go to your April group and rage. The April group is the group that you will be going to battle with. They'll have your back if you have theirs.
By far the most important thing to do is to post roll early every single day. That's your promise to not use nicotine in any form for the day. Make your promise, and keep it. Reach out when you need to.
Jump in with both feet, and drink the Kool-Aid. If you stick with the program to the letter, it's guaranteed to work, so long as you're a man of your word.

You can do better than just checking with others about dealing with withdrawal. Post roll in the April 2017 group. Get to know your fellow quitters. Quitting is much more than just "getting through" the withdrawal. You have to turn your addiction on its head. No longer will your addiction drag you around by the nostrils. Today is the first day of taking back your life and bringing the fight to your addiction.
Physical withdrawal only lasts 3 days. If you think you can get through those three days and the battle is over, you couldn't be more wrong. Read a lot on here, post roll and adopt a new mindset. It's worth every damn minute of the freedom.

That's a little hard core but I like the honest approach. I've stopped before so I'm not fooling myself about the level of difficulty or the amount of determination it will take. I was simply putting it into the phases. I face the struggles of the first 72 hours. I will be back again to post how to make the first week then the first month and so on.

This isnt about just keeping a journal. This is about engaging and becoming part of a community that knows how to quit.
Everyone giving you advice has had a day 1, 2, 3, 4..... we know how to do this. There is at least 1 person here that has gone through something similar. Engagement makes this real.
I am 903 days in. You can do this, just embrace what is being offered to you.

I get that but I just dealing this in a way that I am most comfortable for me... If people keep pushing me to do things in a way that I am not comfortable with then I will not do it just to spite them and possibly leave and that is not what I want to do because I truly want to quit and I honestly believe that the people here can help. ( If I didn't I would not have signed up in the first place )

Nobody wants you to leave, least of all you. That being said, this place works because of the tried and true formula that we are spewing at you. We aren't doing it to bully you, we're trying to steer you in the right direction to give yourself the best chance at success. Ultimately, it's your quit and you are the one that is driving that ship, but we are here to help you when you don't know how to help yourself in this battle. That's the point we're trying to make about getting engaged and making this a group effort.
Whatever you decide, glad you're quit today CW.
