I'm really not sure if this is the right place to introduce myself but my name is Tyler and this is day three of my quit. I have found the past three days to be very hard but I was going through over a can a day for 7years and before I lose my teeth or my fiancé I want to quit. I already feel more tired toward the end of my 12 hour work days and just no energy. I'm hoping with roll call and the quit group I can remember what life is without chew again.

TDogg,
Welcome to the asylum. If you have the desire to quit, this is the place. I was a nicotine user for 25+ years until I found this place. Stopped using more times then I can remember, but never quit. KTC will show you how to quit, its just up to you to follow the path that has been blazed. Post roll daily, keep your promise that you will not use nicotine for 24 hours and do it again the next day. Its a fool proof method if you are good for your word. Just remember we are all addicts and for me that was the first hurdle to get over, realizing I was an addict and this was not just a habit I could control. Join your December group, get some digits from folks in your group and stay involved around here, it will really help during the SUCK FOG which you are in now. The poison should be out of your system soon, so the rest of this will be mental. Again welcome and if you need anything shoot me a PM.

Tdogg-
Welcome. Drink a lot of water the next week- it'll help with the fog. Read as much as you can on this site. The tools are here if you want to quit. We quit one day at a time. Wake up, piss and post roll.
Make that promise to yourself and everyone here that you are not going to use nicotine in any form for today. Do this first thing in the morning. You can do this if you want it. You can do this if you own your quit. You can do this if you follow the process. You CAN DO this.
You'll never regret quitting.
You are going to hear and read a lot of different stuff on this site- take the advice that works for you and leave the rest but the one constant, the one thing that needs to be done is posting roll and making that commitment EDD.
PM me if I can be of help.
QUIT on.

Did you use nicotine gum or is that not a good idea I was reading on here it is not a good thing because it still has the nicotine we're trying to overcome?

Tdogg-
This is a no nicotine site. No nicotine in any form. You are addicted to nicotine not dipping. Nicorette gum is just delivering the poison via a different vehicle. We quit nicotine. Flush that shit down the toilet and quit with us.

What he ^^^ said. don't be afraid to reach out to anyone here. I appreciate your words, but I couldn't have made it this far without the support and help of this incredible bunch of assholes.
Seriously, you will not find a more screwed up bunch of dickheads anywhere. And we've all collected here for one purpose - to Quit. I'll bet you'll find someone (at least) who you can identify with on more than one level.
If you need anything, reach out.

TDogg, you are on the trail my friend. Just keep putting one boot in front of the other and don't worry about tomorrow. Let's get through today and go at it again tomorrow. I also want you to stop using words like "hope" or "try" because we don't do that hope and try crap here at KTC, we just do it. We quit 24 hours at a time. I quit with you today......

Hello TDogg! Listen to these guys, they know what they are talking about. Well, I can only vouch for their Quit acumen. Some of them have questionable manners and unfortunate sports allegiances but they know what you need to learn about The Quit.
Post Roll
Drink Water
No Booze
PM me if you want my number. I quit with you today. Welcome to the December group.

Day six and doing good been some long day driving machinery which make it hard because for years when I got hungry, tired, or just bored I would put a chew in. Now I've been doing great with sunflower seeds and smokey mountain "fake chew". Which brings me to my question for all you veterans. I want to eventually be completely done chewing and now I'm still chewing smokey mountain should I quit the fake chew too or wait until I'm off the nicotine and then tackle the dip?

Wait until you are off the nicotine and don't worry about the fake chew. Many will chime in as this topic is discussed very frequently and I had exactly the same question early in my quit. I am now on day 118 - early in my quit I used Smokey Mtn daily. For the last month I've used it maybe 2-3 times per week. My usage now is almost non-existent except football coming back has caused me to use it a little more.
Bottom line is that eventually we will just stop with the fake dip. There is one rule here and that is to keep nicotine out of your body. If the fake helps then keep using it.
I keep a can around just in case but again don't worry about the fake stuff - you won't become addicted to it and eventually you'll stop using it.
Proud to quit with you TODAY

Tdogg,
Don't worry about the fake dip, use it as much as you need to keep the poisonous weed out of your lip. I used it for a little over a month and then just kind of quit. Didn't really even think about it, just kind of backed off using it. I still keep a can around for those momentary urges where I feel the need to have something in my lip. Nothing wrong with using that to keep from using the real crap.
