Hey guys, I just wanted to say hey, sota give you my background, and assure you all that I am committed to the quit.
I start using snuff back in 1982, I was 12 years old. Loved the rush it gave me, seemed like it helped me to work longer in the fields and all...I'm a full blown red-neck!! Time pases, like alot of time...
I've been married for 22 years, have 2 great kids, one at Ohio University, one still in high school. I've got a get job working as a IT application specialist for a large chemical company. I love working out, sorta get crazy with it...ran my first OCR this year with my son.
I'm a long LONG way from that kid working 16 hour days on the farms.
Chewing was the one part of my past I could never put in my rear view mirror. I honestly don't like it, can't taste it, and it's was just a habit...and it's one that I will beat.
So, here I am with you..a group a seasoned quitters. Looking for help, guidance, or the occasional kick in the ass.
I AM Quit, I WILL Stay Quit.

Glad to see this intro after the chat session. Even happier to see you quit now instead of waiting for the weekend! You have an opportunity with Big Brother Jack, take advantage of it. PM him if you lost his digits.
Go to the December 2015 quit group, introduce yourself, post roll.
Then go to April 06 and post roll in support there.
Be active here, get mad at people here (spare your loved ones), and quit EDD with us.
I am delighted to quit with you today.

I took everyone's advise and peeled the patch about a half hour later. Not had nicotine in any way, shape, or delivery method since.
I AM QUIT.
Thanks for the motivation.

You will find this motivation works in both directions -- the Brotherhood part of the KTC logo. Your quit helps motivate my own.
The next piece is Accountability. This is what posting roll is all about: promising to yourself and everyone else on this site that you will not use nic in any form today. Make that promise first thing when you wake up. Make that promise to quit one day at a time. Make that promise every damn day. See your fellow bad ass quitters make that promise with you -- get their digits so you can help record their promise if they are away from a computer -- or remind them their promise is overdue if they are late to post roll. The accountability is not about controlling you, it is about you controlling your addiction.
Be stubborn. Be accountable. Use this site and the brothers you gain to quit ODAAT/EDD. That is how we all beat nic and quit.

I don't know that I've seen KTC wrapped up in such a nice, neat package as Nomore's post, but this is really good stuff right here. Take it heart Freebe, this is what this place is all about. If you need anything, feel free to reach out brother.

I've gotta admit, I'm feeling pretty strong today. Didn't get sick last night at all, I was up outta bed once.
My headache is all but gone, stomach not full of acid.
I'm taking some greens powder I picked up from Walmart as part of my exercise / supplementation routine. I actually got it to get extra veggies in my diet, turns out it's a great way to detox. I just wanted to mention it mainly because it's cheap...think $15/ for 14 servings, and if it does help get the shit out of your system faster, well worth it I think.
Be Well My brothers and sisters,

Good info. You may wish to share this thought and resource with a post in your December 15 quit group.
Otherwise keep the intro going so you can remember how much progress you are making. (while showing future quitters it can be done).

Great job on the quit. Eating a ton of veggies and fiber during the first few weeks helped me deal with the nausea and with certain digestive difficulties. It gets amazingly better after a few weeks. Keep on committing, one day, one minute, a time!

Welcome freebe. Reach out to us if you feel like you are going to cave or need any advice.
First suggestion is to pick up some Meigs gold, next time you are in Athens lol

Feeling nervous and a bit on edge today...almost like a mega boost of energy, but not sure where to use it.
Craves are what they are, they come and they go. The nerves seem to be sticking around. Either way, feeling good, am focused, will get past this bump in the road.

You can now use the newfound energy for something positive. Exercise, lift weights, etc. The nerves might stick around for awhile, it's just your body trying to figure out how to operate with a dose of poison to keep you regulated. You're winning the battle and reprogramming your brain to operate on oxygen again instead of dip.
Nice job powering through freebe and keep going, you won't regret it.

OK this is my first shitfaced no nic since I was like 12.
Brother's I got this.

Glad you're on the boards bro instead of banging that can. Make sure you have some digits at your fingertips so that temptress doesn't come get you when the boards are slow. Nice job on the victory, but be careful bro.

No digits yet, but I'm cool for the night, thanks

Thanks for the support!
I'm feeling pretty good today. Got up made a big breakfast for the family, went for a run to sweat out last nights beer. All in all, I think I'm looking forward to a fun weekend. Nicotine free, feeling strong.
Thanks everyone at KTC, this is what I need to keep building momentum.

Been working outside a good bit today, apparently that's a huge trigger for me...all I can think about is getting a dip. Good to know I suppose.

Quitting is the only option. I am WAY past due in getting this sickness out of my life.

Got my full blown workout back today. Feels good to do it for the first time not being wired on nicotine. Sleep is starting to improve, every day it's getting easier.
BEST DECISION I EVER MADE.

Good stuff freebe. Keep your quit on. Lots of water, workouts and walks for me helped in the beginning. Glad you're feeling better. Me too. Just be careful. Don't let your guard down.
I'm quit with you today and tonite. Looking forward to posting roll with my November Zombies tomorrow

My motivation...
My 20 year old Daughter sent me a snapshot of something she posted on her twitter account...
"I'm so proud of my Dad he's been dipping since he was 12 and is now nicotine free from what was the equivalent of smoking 4 packs a day."
I am quit today, you can bet your ass I will be quit tomorrow.

MY quit is strong. I do not want to use again.
Downside -
My energy levels are shit, and my motivation has gone to hell. Not sure if this is some sneaky part of quitting, but this isn't like me at all.

Yes, it is a normal thing. It takes time to rewire your brain to run without nicotine and your second month does drag on. It will get better.

The most difficult part of my quit was the late 20's, freebe. I had a case of the "F its". This means that I was questioning why I was putting myself through hell with nothing but more hell in sight. By day 30, it had dissipated, and I was damn proud that I had pushed through. Your "quit adrenaline" has worn off a little now that you've put in 3 solid weeks of quitting. Stick with and hold strong, it gets so much better brother.
Keep pushing forward, it gets easier and the victories even sweeter my man, you've got this.

Patience. It will all come together.
Work out when you energy is low, just lower your goals for that workout.
Make a list of the things you must do, and do them; let the non-necessities wait for another day.
Patience.

Stopping MY quit will never be on my radar.
Just weird times right now. To be honest, I feel depressed, angry, proud, pissed, and like my best friend died while kicking my dog to death.
No one said this was gonna be easy, and I get that...just never seen the mind fuck running so deep.
Thanks for the support gang, you will see me posting a higher number tomorrow.

269 days later and I have every damn withdrawal you mentioned, so what, I'm quit and not killing myself daily! Nothing in life worth having has ever been given to me. I've worked for everything I have so why should quitting be any different? It's so worth it! Damn proud of you! Suck it up and learn to enjoy the day's of freedom if only an hour at a time. Remember the addict brain never forgets but you will learn how to laugh it off and ignore it. So I crave sweets every hour or so, but diabetes run in my family so I've learned from my nic addiction to say no to sweets . The brain is an awesome tool if used properly but we've screwed it so many year's with nic it's gonna take a long time to rewire! Damn proud to be quit with you today my brother! Stay tough, focused and learn to smile the hard days it helps!
-
Congrats on making it through the first 30 days. A month is a huge accomplishment for an addict!!! I am proud to quit with you today brother!!! Stay strong ODAAT EDD!!!!

Thanks man, 30 days. Wow. I know it's a small number compared to many of the more seasoned quitters in here, but to me, that is a awesome milestone.
It still is weird from time to time, but every day I know I am more and more committed to not only getting this poison out of my life forever, but also doing what I can to heal up from the damage I've already caused.
The KTC methodology works because of all the great people that make this site. I thank you all.

You are as tough as you said you were in Chat on Day 1 -- well tougher now you are free.
Congratulations on Hall of Fame! Happy to quit with you today and every day!

Approximately 90 days ago freebe and I made a pact in chat one night to quit together and buy each others coins when we reached HOF. Mission accomplished!! We both made it. We had each others backs through the first 100 days. That first 30 days or so there was a lot of "damn man this is TOUGH I think about caving but I'm not going to! I'm not gonna be a bitch and cave are you? Fuck no I'm not caving we got this shit!
So today I was excited to come in and congratulate my quit partner on HOF. Well instead I got a pm from freebe
1 stating the fact that we both made it
2 That being on this site had created problems ion his personal life and that he would be deactivating his account here
3 He wanted me to make sure no one tries to contact him on his phone!! So I am doing this one last favor for him. Please respect his wishes
-
2 That being on this site had created problems ion his personal life and that he would be deactivating his account here
Wow, I have heard this before, but that there is addict talking as far as I am concerned.
Do you all know that 100 isn't the END?!
There are still tough times ahead.
"we got this" / "i don't think about nic any more , unless I'm here"
Why not just post roll only at least? I don't get it.

Hold on, one more thing.....
You are letting your brothers and sisters in quit down by leaving "via text" to another bad ass quit brother.
If that isn't a slap in the face, then nothing is....
I am more than disapointed. So many people here helped you and you in turn i thought helped others. I posted earlier in this very thread, because i was so proud of you. Now all i feel is disappointment. You can't even make one last post in here saying your goodbyes, i thought you were more than that.
Here were go, moving on to waking side by side with quitters who value this place (like i THOUGHT you did).

I have caught you in chat a few times so hope you know a little where I am coming from, but would like for you to relay a few items to freebie.
1- he is not the only one who, through this site, has had personal problems with one's family. I found out (glad it was not too late), that with the time and effort that I had been spending on the site was away from my wife to the point of almost neglect. So I won't start to try to think about what he may be going through, or if there might be some other non-understanding with his family members, but pass that along, and I (and my wife) will offer to speak/message with any help we can.
2 - yes the 100 mark is a milestone but just a waypoint on a fantastic journey and that he will still need the support as there will come days, out of the blue, where he will feel like he was hit by a 2x4.
3 - And that leaves the final pass to him, and that is of brotherhood, family and/or friends that he has developed here during his time and why would he turn his back. Now this does not mean the need of buddy buddy each and every day like at the start, but the thing I have seen to help be successful is to never lose contact with those who were there for you and those you were there for.
We all go through phases, and maybe just time is needed, tell him to post and run for a week or two. Ask him to specify that handful of peeps that can continue to keep in touch. Tell him we are here for him and his family. But most of all tell him not to tear down that foundation he has worked so hard to build.
