Title: Today was my 100th day
Post by: billnam on October 10, 2011, 09:16:00 PM
Today was my 100th day with out dip. This site helped me and I would come to read and remind me why I gave it up. I am going to order my coin. Thank you to all.

Congrats on 100 days quit! You certainly didn't use the site as is typically suggested (posting roll) but you're certainly not the first to get the value from the site from the "sidelines".

Congrats to you quitter! You've jumped over that first hurdle!

Congrats on your 100 days. I am glad you found some good stuff here.

One word of caution- you are not cured, you will be an addict for the rest of your days..

why not stick around and make sure you have support for the tough times?

Thank you. I would come every day and read. I had tried before and failed, never made it to day 100. This time I would come and read the posts and read what to expect or symptoms. thank you for this site, it has helped me.

I am on to the next 100.

I am going to stick around, I have tried and failed many other times and never got to this point. Always had a reason to convince myslef to use it. This time I am committed to the end.

Consider posting roll - that is the one thing that in my opinion has been most effective in reaching my 75 days (and counting). Well done on the 100 regardless - no small feat.

Only a couple of words I have for you.

Go post roll on your day 100. Some people might get mad about it but ignore them.

Start posting roll a little bit because it will help.

The best part about having 100 days under your belt is not the 100 days that are behind you. It's the 3+ months of experience you have to offer new quitters to the site. You never joined the October quit group, but that's where you belong. Maybe you don't ever intend to post roll. You have 3 posts so far. My guess is that you'll never post. Which is unorthodox, but OK.I hope you post, but I won't hold it against you. What you can do is share your experience and insight with others on this site.

Congratulations on your acheivement. It's a significant milestone. It would be great to see you share your success with others here.

Can someone tell me what is a post a roll? I did not join a group but I have used this site. Reading the resources has helped me and have no problems sharing my experience. This is the first time I hit 100 days, I have tried and failed many many times by finding a justification to do it again. Skoal Longcut wintergreen won many times.

This time I am taking it day by day. I will still come to this site, it helped me.

"Posting roll" is our daily promise to ourselves (and by extension the rest of the community) that we will not dip that day. We don't worry about tomorrow... we'll deal with that when we get there.

The Skoal will only win if you let it. If you want my opinion, I think you need to start posting roll with a quit group. The folks who are just hitting 100 days are in October 2011 and I'm sure they would welcome you to their group. If not, I'd love to have you come post in my group every day.

Posting roll is your promise to all of us that you will not use nicotine for that day. We make the same promise to you in return. Posting roll gives us accountability to folks others than ourselves. You see, we've been known to do dumb shit on occasion, like letting "skoal longcut" win, for example. Once you've posted roll, nicotine is off the table for the day. This means that even if you are drinking around a bonfire with all of your best friends who each have a half can of skoal wintergreen packed in their lip after the most amazing hunt you've ever been on, there's no way you could take a dip because you gave your word as a man.

Congrats on the first KTC quit milestone and I hope to see you around here posting roll and helping others. Good to be quit with you today.

What he said. I have a buddy who after dipping for 25 years quit cold turkey in late 2007. He wasn't a member of this site and even though he is 4 years quit I am trying to get him to join here because his perspective may help someone else in their quit.

Look at it this way. This site helped you in your quit. You never know if there is something you may be able to offer to someone here or just someone lurking - pay it forward. It's simple like gmann said, just post roll and maybe share your quit experience.

Welcome aboard.
