Greetings from a new quitter. I flushed my last (almost full) can an hour ago. I have used Kodiak since High School some 20 years ago. Been mostly a closet chewer, sneaking one in small enough that I don't have to spit. Have tried to quit for several years, never making it past the 3rd day. But many "successful" 2 day quits and weeks before a dentist appointment where I would use just enough to get by but not enough to get uncomfortable questions from the dentist.
I am hopeful that this site can be enough difference. I have seen this site and others like it before, but always figured I could quit by myself. This time I am pulling out all the stops and going to make it.

Welcome to the site bob! I would suggest that you not "hope" that this site will be the difference. It is for you to make it be the difference. Post roll call everyday, then keep the word that you have given by not using tobacco in any form for that one day. Then do it again tomorrow. Take it seriously and consider the accountability that the site offers to be the difference.
We are all just a bunch guys (and gals) beating that same addiction you will be fighting. Every single person that posts roll call on this site is a tribute to the fact that this CAN be done. I'll not promise that this is going to be easy. But I will promise that it is going to be worth it.

Welcome aboard bob1014!
Flushing that can was more than likely a difficult thing for you to do. However, that choice you just made is one that you will be thanking yourself for over and over again. It won't be easy, there will be days will you'll feel like caving, but stay strong and true to yourself, take faith in the help you'll find here and stay the course.
The people you'll get to know here will become your friends and some may even become like family. It is that bond that will hold you to your decision to stay quit. I'm sure you don't want to let any part of your family down, and it's no different here.
Every day you will be held accountable and you will post roll stating that you will not chew that day. What this does is verifies to all the others in your group that you won't break your word. Each day you hold yourself accountable is another day you've beaten your addiction. It's a damn fine feeling knowing each day that passes is another day you've overcome one hell of an obstacle. We all have reasons to quit, and whatever yours is, stay true to it and stay true to yourself. You have a lot of people here that are willing to help, help is right here at the end of your fingertips, all you have to do is ask.
Welcome my friend, I look forward to seeing you around.
Stay Strong and Stay Quit!
