The Daytona 500 just ended (way to go Junior!) and I had a lip in. But then I started thinking about my girlfriend. She absolutely hates me dipping. We've been together for a while now and I've been lying through my teeth the whole time saying that I quit when I didn't. Today that changes. I just dumped the remaining (3/4) of my dip down the toilet and watched it flush never to be seen by me again.

I started in around 2011 as an occasional snus user. That then moved to pouches when I was hanging out with my friends (usually hungover, all the time drunk) and then longcut for the last 2 years. I mostly attributed it to the stress of the situation I was in (playing for a highly competitive athletic team and being the President of it while writing my thesis) but now as I move forward in the career of fitness, I realize it's time for me to quit.

This isn't just for me, it's for her like my username says. I can't keep lying if I want to keep her. I guess I'm writing this as some sort of apology to her for lying these last couple months. I'm writing this to hold myself accountable to everyone here. The last lip will be just that. My last lip.

A quick thank you for this forum being up, I read alot of the stories on KTC and I realized I can't do it anymore.

Welcome in bro. Make sure you get up to the Welcome Center link at the top of the page. It has everything you need to know about what, why, and how we do things here.

I want to point out one thing to you. Your quit HAS to be for you alone. It's YOUR addiction... Not your girlfriends. Yours. Other sources can serve as inspiration but it comes down to you. You have to quit because YOU want it. Do you? Stick around and be an awesome quitter.

Like my good friend AJ said... You have to own this quit, you bought it for yourself. You will have plenty of support here so make some friends in your new group and be accountable to them as they will hold you accountable!

Damn man, you have stirred up support from some of the baddest quitters I know and although they have done a fantastic job of laying it all out for you I am going to add a few things to help out as well, note all the bold and underlined text below are links to location on KTC.

1st - decide that you are quitting for you and you alone, all the other people in your life can benefit from your improved breath, lack of jaw/gum loss and teeth when you smile. Not to mention not stepping into your spit puddles every where or having to find and dispose of a rotten spitter.

2nd - quit daily, learn How to Post Roll (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=50).

3rd - post roll with your group Pre-HOF June 2014 (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=9580); do this pledge daily.

4th - get involved, exchange numbers with fellow quitters, and use their guidance to walk down the path of enlightenment and enrichment.

I'm writing this to hold myself accountable to everyone here.
to keep yourself accountable to everyone here you need to post roll. Like these guys have said - check out the Welcome Center (link is up top) then post roll. Reach out - send some pm's and ask your fellow quitters to hold you accountable - ask more than one guy. your 1st post in your intro on your 1st day won't hold you accountable, this site - if used as laid out by all of us who have quit before you - that can hold you accountable. KTC can't quit for you but it sure as hell can help!

Awesome decision to quit! I've "stopped" dipping in the past only to come crawling back to the cancer inducing shit. I joined KTC on Saturday and began my quit on Sunday. I'm on Day 2 of my quit and this time it feels so much different. KTC is made up of great people who know the struggle of nic addicition. You're held accountable, held to a higher standard if you will. I hope to see your name in the June Quitters group, you'll see mine! PM me for anything.

Go here..index.php?showtopic=50 (http://forum.killthecan.org/index.php?showtopic=50) and post roll with June 2014. Today is your Day2. You might screw it up, everyone does at first, we'll fix it. BUT, posting roll is a cornerstone of quit here. It's your word to yourself and all of us that there will not be any nicotine entering your body today. Repeat that every damn day as soon as you can. Hell, do it from bed via phone. But, you need to get on the roll today. Either quit or get.
