I am Tommy and today is my first day of quitting...yet again. I have never tried this place and found it by chance when looking online for more reasons to quit chewing. I have been chewing since I was 14 and am currently 36. I have tried to quit about 20 times over the years and typically fall victim to the my mind tricking me into to thinking life sucks without chew. That's a big reason this place seemed like a good fit for me. I am also an alcoholic with 12 years of sobriety so I understand and respect the concept of this place. I am quitting because I hate how chewing has controlled my life for so many years and I am starting to really worry about the long term health risks as I have a 9 and 6 year old at home that I want to be around to watch grow up and start their own families. I am currently in the USAF and looking forward to no longer having my addiction impact my day to day life. Wish me luck!

tvoie - you've made a great decision. Yes, this really is the place you want to be if you want to quit. I'm currently at day 118 of freedom, after chewing tobacco for 33 years. There are folks here that are months, years, decades quit. They're examples, inspirations and brothers and sisters in quit.
I saw that you posted roll in August already - that's great, and it's your first step towards building the accountability and brotherhood that you'll need to stay quit. Post roll, exchange numbers, make connections and we'll help you along in your quit - everybody here has been exactly where you are, and we're here to support you as you walk that path.

Hey tvoie, welcome to the quit party...all you need to do is post roll and you are free to enjoy all the Kool-Aid you would like. I quit with you today.
There is no luck when we quit...only doing! Don't quit for tomorrow, quit for today. There are a bunch of great quitters here to support you!
