Title: My Intro.
Post by: tarheelmt on January 18, 2014, 09:48:00 AM
Hey all, I had dipped for about 3 years. Picked it up back before I got married (going through a divorce now). I started off with snus pouches and once married my ex would say why not be a man and chew the real stuff if your going to do it. So what did I do? I was an idiot and started up what would be the worst habit ever!
Since being separated from the ex, I have decided to quit and have quit since Jan. 9. I hope to continue this streak for the rest of my life. Look forward to talking to all of you and helping others as well as myself
Thanks.

worst habit ever!
First of all welcome and good job on 8 days. Now lets start getting that mind right. Change habit to addiction. Your addicted to one of the most addictive drugs known to man and that's why one is to many and 1000 will never be enough.

Let me make this quit so much easier for you. Forget about the rest of your life. Just quit for today. I think a week ahead and I get a headache.

Lastly,, HOPE is for lotto. We don't hope, try, pretend or just talk about,, WE QUIT PERIOD!!!

Go to the top left and click on the welcome center. Read on how and why we post roll. Pay particular attention to why. This is where the quitters are separated from the pretenders. You can keep your word for a day right?

I quit chewing Red Man....easy. I quit smoking....easy. I quit dipping...easy. None of that crap was really that hard. There was a mild oral fixation to cover, but that is easily handled.
Quitting nicotine was a son-of-a-bitch. That was a f'n commitment and a lot of effort was required (at least in the first couple of months).

The point...you are not addicted to pouches, long-cut, smokes, patches, nicorette, chaw, snus, ecigs, etc. You are addicted to nicotine. NICOTINE is what you hopefully consider "the worst habit ever".

Congrats on seeing the light. I'll be looking for your name on the roll. Keep choosing freedom! After finishing the WELCOME CENTER, I'd suggest you check out the WORDS OF WISDOM section, and maybe some HALL OF FAME speeches. There's a ton of good stuff on here, and it can do wonders to kill a crave and motivate your quit.

First 3 days were the worst so far. First day I quit I flew from California to Nashville and that wasn't terrible, but the next day, was like a fog lol. Since then, with the help of sunflower seeds and chewing gum, I've been able to quit each day. Yesterday work was rough and stressful, had a craving but avoided and went with Smokey Mountain, def. helped. Thanks for the reply.
