Hey guys, I'm a 19 year-old college kid from Kansas and I'm only on day 2 of quitting. I think I'd be fine for the most part if my mouth would stop watering, anybody know when that'll generally stop by?
Best,
Graham

Feeling like one of Pavlov's dogs? Click here (http://www.killthecan.org/your-quit/symptoms-of-quitting-dip-chew/) and here (http://www.killthecan.org/your-quit/what-to-expect-when-you-quit-dipping/) for some info on what to expect. As far as watering mouth I'm assuming it happens when you think about dip? Everyone's different so it's hard to say when to expect certain things to change, but I promise that things like this will be much less noticeable after you have a couple weeks under your belt.
Do you drink? I remember those first couple years of college, coming home during the Summer, seeing all your old buddies, and getting annihilated for 3 months. If you drink, try to take it easy at first until you're feeling more confident or keep a can of fake around. Alcohol is a huge quit killer.

It's day 2. it's going to suck. Drink water, chew gum. get seeds, get hard candy, get toothpicks, go for a run, go for a bike ride, punch a bag, lift some weights, get fake stuff, call a quit brother or sister in your group (you do have some digits right?).
The point is, do anything and everything to avoid putting that shit back in your mouth.

Hi Graham,
I did an internet search for 'salivation' AND 'nicotine withdrawal' OR 'nicotine cessation'. While not the most commonly mentioned side effect of quitting nicotine, it does get discussed briefly. I found mention of it lasting anywhere between 3 days (during nicotine withdrawal) and 3 weeks (autonomic nervous system response to thinking about dipping- think Pavlov's dogs and the bell before dinner). Everyone if different of course. I am sure we are all waiting for you to inform us of the answer once you know it yourself.
Best,
Quark

Aww a little saliva. Think about how many bottles you could have filled while dipping. It is worth every damn thing you could go through at 19 to stay quit! Im very proud of you for having the balls to realize how stupid this shit was before you was 50! Stay quit, let us help please. Don't fail because every dip makes it harder to quit! Damn proud to be quit with you today my friend!
