Title: INTRODUCTION-Pre HOF September 2015
Post by: GregN_CanDoIt on June 22, 2015, 08:58:00 AM
Hi all,

My name is Greg. I've been dipping on and off for 4 years. I had my first dip during my freshman year of college when my roommate gave me a can for my 19th birthday, the legal age in New Jersey. While I thought I was having a harmless dip, that turned into finishing the can followed by another and the bad habit got rolling. From then on, I was an addict and even after I would stop dipping for weeks or months, I always eventually turned to dipping during long periods of stress like finals, writing a thesis, or anything else that came up. I knew that even if I had 1 dip I'd return to my previous levels of dipping.

I'm giving up dip for good. Dip has never done anything good for me now or ever. From day 1 to 100 and thereafter, I'm going to post every day and know that's a promise to my quit brothers and sisters not to dip that day. I look forward to getting to know you all during our journey. Thanks for reading.

-Greg

Welcome to Freedom bro.

To getcha squared away... don't sweat forever. Don't worry about 100 days. Don't worry about anything other than giving your word and keeping it today. Today is manageable and, really, all you've got. Get involved and stay involved... this all works if you work it.

4 years in....you lucky dog. Seriously, I wish I was as smart as you and decided to quit 4 years in......that would have put me in my early 20's. TRUST ME, you are doing the right thing. I'm only 8 days into the QUIT and i'm talking like I quit years ago....but shit man. Fuckn 8 days not having a dip in 20 years. I haven't gone 2 days wo a Freaking dip in 20 YEARS. I went hours...or the 7 when i slept. I applaud you for realizing and admitting you have a problem and doing something about it so darn soon. Dang man, I felt like i was killing myself for 20. IF I would be in your position 16 years ago, i'd feel much better about my health.

Gald to be quitting with you.

I was feeling like an aging 40 year old turd that was letting something run his life. At least now i'm just a fat balding guy...but feels great i'm not doing that Bull shit anymore.

Greg -
You're a wiser man than just about anyone else here for choosing a healthy life so early in your addiction. You'll have plenty of weak moments when you feel like cheating. At those times, I want you to think about the rest of us, who had been dipping for (literally) more than half our lives, and how big a kick in the junk it would be to us if you caved.

Help my quit. Stay strong with me today.

You guys look into Who greg really is? His real screen name is Xgregx-Novak and he posted day 287 on June 13th. Between then and now he caved and came back as a different screen name. He is back to his old screen name now and now posts in Sept15 after being almost 300 days quit.

Sounds about like my story. If he's beyond hope, then so am I.

No one is beyond hope, but creating another user name violates the Terms of Service I believe. Not a quit issue but a website issue.
