I guess I never really posted an intro. I kind of fell into this KTC group backwards. 7 days ago I took the last step of my 2 year quit smoking journey. For 20 years I would smoke all day then dip all night. Not really sure why, but that is what I did. 2 years ago I was invited to sub in on a buddy's softball team. Double header. Ouch. I was fucked out of breath for almost the whole time. That is when I realized that I was not invincible and I need to stop. I decided to switch to vaping all day and dipping at night. My lung function did vastly improve. I told myself - yeah this is healthy. Vaping is healthy and I only dip at night. I can do this forever.... Till about two months ago... Got back from the dentist... 2 crowns 2 root canals, and two teeth we are keeping an eye on. Shoot maybe I can't do this forever. I trade in the dip at night for nicorette lozenges. Again I tell myself- this is healthy, I can do this forever. After dropping the Grizzly for lozenges I begin experiencing withdrawal symptoms.
I google withdrawal symptoms and found my way to kill the can. I click on the live chat to ask questions about withdrawal. Flucky21 was on there and a couple other vets. They ask me some tough questions that challenge my idea of "safe nicotene". After a couple days and some soul searching, I man up, give away all my vaping shit, flush my lozenges and post roll. I am sick of being enslaved by master "nic". It took me 2 years to finally quit, but I did it.
Anyways, that's my intro I guess. Thanks for listening.

That'll do, bro... that'll do!
Jumping in and doin' it cold turkey is the only way this really works. I say this all the time cuz it's true... get involved and stay involved. It works. Ask me how I know...

Apple jack speaks the truth. Quit Cold bone turkey. You just stop and deal with it. The voice that says anything to get you to dip is the addict speaking. You are not that person. You are the one that says no. Each day you post roll, and each day you will strengthen your commitment. I am only on day 11. From here it seems so much better. Hang in, get thru each day, and it is only about each day of being quit. Look forward to seeing you on roll, be an April quitting fool!

Randy,
You come to true recovery from a network of lies, rationalizations, and just plain silliness.
I'm glad you decided to stop playing around and accept nicotine cessation head on.
Welcome to the Fraternity of Quit.
Fraternally,
Jim H.
