Title: My Introduction
Post by: mikeWK on January 09, 2019, 03:00:31 PM
Hello guys and gals,

I'm Mike.  I'm 38.  Been an addict for 15+ years, and well, it's time to stop feeding the addiction.  I was going to wait until Friday to start, but after my last dip (and the anxiety & heart palpitations) I've decided to make that last dip my LAST dip.

I know that I'm not strong enough to do it on my own.   I've been reading through the pages here the past couple of days, and I'm quite inspired by the resolve and brotherhood here.   Joint accountability seems to be a huge part of the process.

I'm not entirely sure what to do next, and I'm open to all suggestions and/or corrections.  Some of you guys...  you blow me away with your stories.   I'm jealous but inspired.   I want my life back, and I'm ready to take it...  to fight for it.

Thanks for having me.

-Mike

Welcome. Nice job posting roll.

Treat your roll post as a solemn promise to yourself, members of your quit group, and everyone supporting your group. That's a solemn promise to not use nicotine in any form for the rest of the day. Wake up, and make the same promise first thing in the morning (WUPP - Wake Up Piss Post).

Quitting is that simple - hard as hell - but simple.

Proud to quit with you.

Nice job posting roll Mike.  RDB hit it on the head.  Make that promise each morning, keep your word and repeat daily.

Start exchanging digits (phone numbers) with other quitters in your group as well as some of the veterans.  This will build your accountability and brotherhood network as well as give you instant access to support if needed.

Check your inbox for my digits.
