Thought Day 1 was ok but Day 2 has really tested me. Had to go to Wal-Mart which is frustrating in itself pull over to the side if you want to look at something don't stop in the middle of the aisle. Bought a Blu-Ray player brought it home didn't work had to go back to Wal-Mart to exchange it. Have the shakes, a tiny headache, my left shoulder is tense and I have a tiny little voice in my head saying come on one dip will calm you down. To that voice I say GO FUCK YOURSELF I AM BUSY BEING QUIT!
Hey, padresfan -

Saw in your first post that you're going the Chantix route...that's the strategy I've chosen as well. I'm on Day 39. In retrospect, I wish I'd have kept a better journal of the early days so I could be of more help.

However, from what I recall...one the first 3-4 days had passed, the Chantix did seem to help suppress / muffle the cravings quite a bit. It was like the nic was calling to me, but it was standing poolside and I was four feet underwater...I knew it was there, and I could hear it, but I couldn't understand what it was saying. I'm now right smack in the middle of the 30-40 day "blahs," which suck in their own unique way.

Did your doc have you start taking the Chantix a week before your quit date, or did you start on Day 1?

PM anytime if you want to compare notes.

- Mitch

Welcome, padsfan.

Noob here myself, as well as a hardcore baseball fan too (Halos).  We have 14 days to figure out a new way to watch baseball.
Not sure I even want to watch the Padres this year. Looks like we are still rebuilding so it could be a long season.
think of it this way, it is a rebuilding year for you guys as well
But evertything goes on with out dip, including baseball.

Welcome aboard Padsfan! We got your back. As you can see, very helpful community here. Like Bruce said, get all war criminal on this dirty nic demon. It's got it comin'. Fear it just enough to learn how to kick hell out of it, one day at a time.

PM me if you need a number to call for anything (permission to cave, for instance 'na na' ).

This place is helping me succeed every day where I've failed before. You got this.

So I dipped Kodiak for almost 15 years and today I quit! I have tried before but never for me always for someone else. This time it is for me. I don't need it anymore I get nothing good from it. I talked with my doctor and he prescribed Chantix hopefully it helps I feel like it's cheating but whatever it takes. So far today hasn't been to bad I have gotten a lot done, but I know and kind of fear what's to come! Anyway I am originally from San Diego and currently live in Las Vegas not that that matters. I look forward to being apart of this community.
Welcome. Looks like you may have been around long enough to read some things on the site. I sent you a PM (Inbox 1) upper right corner of your screen with some helpful links. Disregard if you have read them already.

Good to have you aboard.
Dude, don't fear it.....hit it head on! Take this nic bitch out and beat the living shit out of her.......you got this! Better grab your nut sack and screw you mind on right, you were born with a backbone, I suggest you use it ! If you think I'm trying to piss you off. I'm not! For most of us it's life or death here....one more dip for me may just give me the cancer that so far I've been lucky enough to avoid.... how bout you?
