Guess that quitting thing just wasn't THAT important.
Strange...seems impossible to tell how sincere someone is from their initial post.

A guy with the handle "Punks" had me completely snowed a couple weeks ago. I put my heart into a response to his introduction...after Day 1, he was never heard from again.

Ready...you've read enough of these...do you have a radar of any kind to tell when someone is legit?
Not really. Only because I know what a set of huge fucking balls it takes to quit those first few days and weeks. I know the temptation. We all do. So, no matter how sincere they are it is very difficult to just fucking do it.

I try to help where I can but I don't spend a monumental amount of time on someone until they prove they can give their word and keep it for at least a few days.

That is not to say I will not help if appraoched. That is a given. I'm talking about seeing someone brand spankin new and spending alot of time on them. The way I see it, if they are not ready, no amount of time will get them there. They have to want this more than anything else they have going on in their lives right now. If they are ready, then it is as simple as giving them the information to succeed, a little encouragement that they will in fact not die and being there when they need it.

Sorry bout the rambling. My 2 cents.

I am quitting this stuff, I have been dipping for over 15 yr and its time. Need advice and help on what to do about cravings........
Fatguy,

This is the best decision you have ever made. Take your life back! What do I do about cravings? Face them head on! Each crave you make it through makes you that much stronger. The first 3 days suck, no doubt about it. Embrace the suck. It is the price you pay for freedom. You thought you could just waltz away from the nic-bitch unscathed? This could be the last time you have to endure the pains of withdraw....Think about that.
