Welcome Andrew! You can do this. You will kick nic's ass!
Others have already told you what to do, post roll every morning to pledge your quit for the day. Get to know your quit brothers, help them and they will help you. Thanks for your service, and PM me if I can assist you in your quit.

Welcome brother,

First thing you need to do is go up to the Welcome Center and learn how to post roll. We post roll everyday! No excuses! Then go in to August '12 and post roll, that will be your quit group. Posting roll is your word that you will not use any form of nic that day...one day at a time, that's how we quit around here. You got this bro, if you need anything, don't be afraid to send me a message.

Outstanding. You will conquer this. You have backbone and balls. That shit no longer owns you.

That's truly inspiring that you came clean with your wife to start. Good shit. Having that support on the outside world is tremendous. We've got your back here. Ton of folks to help. Use the tools here. Its a framework that does not allow for failure. But you have to use the tools.

There is a lot of good info on the Kill the Can site so keep looking around and reading. It takes time but well worth it. Take notes and ask questions. Takes for serving!

Hello everyone,
I have recently made the decision to quit dipping tobacco. The dip I had was Grizzley Wintergreen, I have been a slave to it for at least 2 years ever since I joined the Marine Corp. It must of been peer pressure, stress, or just an attempt to try new things. All in all I have realized that it was a very stupid decision, its just not worth the money, the health problems down the road, and the embarrassment to family and my wife. About a month ago I came to my wife and admitted that I had a problem with dip and I wanted to quit. After that she has been supportive of my quit. I tried backing off dip and going to snus for 3 weeks which helped because now I am on day 3 of completely stopping all tobacco. I am completely tired of paying for it through my body and wallet. I came to this site because I need more support than just my wife, even though she is a great influence. When I goto work, I am completely surrounded by dip, its the USMC. At least half the people I work with do it, and it doesn't seem like they made that decision yet. Plus I am getting deployed in September so I am going to need to stay off it completely to make sure I am not craving on the boat. I am glad I have made this decision because I do not like being reliant on things, stupid things. I have better things to put my money that I am saving by not doing it. I am also trying the tobacco-free dip. Its pretty good and keeps that feeling of having a dip in my mouth but with no tobacco. Well I have to go but I wanted to make my introduction. My name is Andrew, I am a Marine, and I USED to be a slave to dip.
Cheers
Welcome Andrew. One hell of a smart decision. You need to go to the Welcome Centerand read about posting roll. We are a 100% nicotine free site, no nicotine in any form is acceptable. The process is very simple: Quit 1 day at a time, post roll and promise to not use nicotine all that day, Continue having the integraty of the USMC keep your word, read all you can onsite, be active with your August Quit Group. Now Get'r Done.
