SPT: I am also pretty new here myself only on 70days and everyday is a new day! I can tell you that I have been trying to quit for years, I have tried everything from the gum, to cigars, to fake dip I even quit for a year, overseas with the military for a whole year and the NIC Bitch dragged me back in slowly I transversed from NIC Gum to cigars to redman to Dip. The only thing that works is accountability, from the great dude and dudette's on this site and accountability that you place on yourself. I can only stay quit today and I don't worry about tomorrow or next week. I wish you the best and "It could always be worse!" SUCK IT UP!!!!

Chantix made me crazy and just prolonged my habit. Just dive in man grind it out you can do this we have all lived our life thinking it couldn't be done. It can and you will just make the commitment. Email me if I can help!

ninereason is right, and so are the others, Screw chantix- there is no magic pill that will help you quit, all of that is bullshit. Chantix has never been evaluated for dippers, neither has any other NRT. Truth is there is no easy way out but to grab on, grit your teeth , educate yourself about what that shit does to you and ride it out.

The water is fine jump on in and we'll help you swim,

sm
"CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it?s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit. After that moment, no temptation will be great enough, no lie persuasive enough to make you commit suicide by using tobacco."

Glad you're hear spt. Now that the 26 year period is over, you can start on another period - one day. Take it one day at a time bro.

I know that it is going to be hard, but hopefully with support from the people on the boards you all can help me. I would like to try and quit on my own. I have an appointment with my DOC for a prescription of CHANTIX, but that stuff is EXPENSIVE.
Wasting money has never been a problem for me, brother; or you, either, apparently.

For most of our lives, you and I have been spending money we couldn't really afford. We've been mumbling to checkout girls for decades, like confused thieves - "Take these coins and empty them in your cash-register. Nice and easy, replace my vital organs with mounds of the toxic filth that's in that can right there; and no-one will get hurt."

Spending money is not going to fix this craziness. No pill is going to cure you of two dozen years of poisoning your body and your mind. You already know that - am I right? You're just hoping to make it a little easier. You want to quit. The magic that will make it happen is to go for what you want, now.

Post roll with me, and I'll post roll too. That won't make it easy, but it will make it happen.

Take encouragement and pass it on. Pick out some arbitrary fellow newbie, and give him a pep-talk like you know what you're talking about, and that will help you to keep yourself off the ledge. Make a plan for the next quarter of a century and become the sort of person that goes 24 years without touching the stuff again, today.

You can do this without chantix, NOLAQ is right on when he says you don't need it.....you don't.

Congrats on your choice and welcome!

Welcome. Give your word. Keep it.

Simple, yes.

Easy, no.

Worth it, oh hell yes.

It will get better.

Good Morning Everyone, I have heard of this site and today I decided to take control of my life and to realize that I am in control and not the can in my pocket.

16 weeks ago I did something that changed my life forever. I had gastric bypass surgery. on November 4, 2010, I weighed in at 301 pounds with a BMI of over 40. Today i am at 225. I am eating healthy working out about 1.5 hours a day and making changes to better my life.

However the one thing I have left is the DIP. I am a Copenhagen user. I have been using Copenhagen since I was 15. THAT IS OVER 26 YEARS OF THE STUFF!!!!!! I want to quit, I need to quit. I am making all these changes and this dip HAS TO GO.

I know that it is going to be hard, but hopefully with support from the people on the boards you all can help me. I would like to try and quit on my own. I have an appointment with my DOC for a prescription of CHANTIX, but that stuff is EXPENSIVE.

I know that this is not going to be easy, but if I can lose over 75 pounds in 16 weeks, I am sure I can KILL THE CAN in 100 days.

spt, welcome to the best decision you ever made.

Couple things. First, we haven't killed anything in 100 days. The first 100 days is just a stepping stone. This is a battle for the rest of your life, as is the battle with your weight. There is no finish line. There is no trophy. There is and always will be TODAY.

Quit for today. Quit for you.

Second, Chantix - I took it, I hated it, you don't need it. I stopped taking it when I found KTC. We have all you need, you just need to want what we have, and that is freedom. And our freedom comes free of charge. The only price of admission is that you do NOT put nicotine in your system at all for today. Give me your word, and I'll give you mine. You keep your word for TODAY, and I'll see you tomorrow.

So if you're in, check your Inbox (1) in the upper right of this screen. I've got some instructions for you.

Your move sweet pea.
What is your major malfunction?!?!?!?!
