Listen to us. Once you get the addiction, it never goes away. Not even years later.

I quit smoking and chew a few years ago. a few months back on the anniversary of my seperation I felt pretty low and had just one dip.. you know, to take the edge off.... no big deal...

Within a week I was back up to my old one can a day habbit.

It can and WILL happen to you if you let it. Tobacco is all bad news. Stay away from it.

Hey everyone. I joined up to this site actually to just ask a question.

First, a bit of an introduction. I have actually been a "casual" tobacco user for years, mostly cigars, but I have also smoked a pipe, and just recently I tried chewing tobacco for the first time (I wanted to try it for the longest time...I don't know why, just wanted to see what it was like).

I'm not an addict by any means, I never have a craving for anything although I do like to have a cigar when I'm working in the garage (which is a couple times a week).

Anyway to get back to the original question...I found that I actually like chewing tobacco, I like the smell and the taste, but I don't want to take the chance of getting addicted.

So, is there some kind of "herbal chew" out there that looks and tastes like  chewing tobacco but isn't tobacco? I've noticed there's tons of the stuff out there that is made like snuff, but nothing that is made like chewing tobacco.

Thanks  :)

Dude listen to these guys! I am 13 days free from a 27 year habit that I think about every day. It is no fun at all to be hooked on chew. For starters, its very expensive, second, it is nasty and gross...Third You WILL get hooked if you keep it up...That's how it happened to me. I was just trying it out. And It can kill you! I wish I could go back in time and never have touched the stuff!

I was you.... right down to the pipe and cigars and then the chew. Of course you liked the dip, the nicotine level in chew makes your pipe look like a pacifier. If you continue down the path your on, you WILL become addicted. Your playing with something you can't possibly comprehend.

Read through these pages and look at the anguish, and frustration, and anger, about this product. Do you really want that ? You don't ever get to undo it by the way. You can control it , but once you become an addict, you will always be an addict. I can't tell you how stupid you would be to start something that you will either eventually have to give up, or will kill you. That is how this ends, there is no other possibility. It will literally kill you or you will be forced to stop. Don't be a dumbass.

Would you shoot heroin just cuz? I bet you'd like that too. Oh and by the way, when I was 14 I dipped beef jerkey in the little tins cuz I thought it was cool. Herbal chew is the same diff. Seriously don't be a douchebag.

Stir up the nest!

1. I can respect the fact that you are looking for an alternative because you don't want to get addicted but you must be a damn fool if you don't think there could be repercussions to you smoking a cigar a few times a week.

2. You like the smell and taste. You must like the buzz huh? That's the kicker.

3. You were obviously searching the web. That's how you found this site. You know what the fake stuff is called. Did you try searching for "herbal chew" instead of asking about it on a quit forum while professing your love for tobacco.

4. You're a real thinker.

i think your best bet is to stop all together, or just keep with the pipes.
Just so its clear, smoking tobacco from a pipe is not an acceptable alternative.

WTF....Did you also join AA because you are a "Casual" alcohol user (Mostly Beer) and you recently tried Whiskey for the time. (Ya Know....because you wanted to try it for the longest time). Did you ask that group if there is "Non-Alcoholic Stuff" that looks and tastes like whiskey? Kind of a dick thing to do isn't it.

Seriously, you came to a site that is about giving up and learning to live without ANY form of nicotine or tobacco. Very nice of you to mention the cigars. Did you find an alternative to them, because I hear they cause cancer as well.

Listen to the other guys, don't start any form of dipping/chewing, even if it is herbal.

ghunt,

Walk away now! I've been chewing for 32 years and this is the hardest
thing I have ever done is being quit for 8 #%$%days. If you want to chew
something chew gum! Dude please don't start not even the herbal stuff.
