Welcome. Trust me you are not the first or last to be confused about role etc.
Clicking on the salmon colored WELCOME CENTER tab at the top will explain a lot but I will break it down in short form for you.
Role is the backbone of this site. Every day you post you're name, you're number of days quit, and maybe a sentence or two about how you are feeling. Posting role every morning (posting as early as possible is encouraged) is your promise to your quit group and everyone else on this site that you will not use nicotine today. That way you are not only accountable for YOU, you're accountable to everyone and they are to you as well. If you fail (which you wont) you not only let yourself down but every member of your quit group and everyone one else here who are all willing to support you.
What quit group are you in? Since the goal of posting role (at first anyway) is to make it to 100 days anyone who starts their quit between 11/21-12/23 their 100th day will fall in March of 2013 so therefore you would be in the "Pre Hof, March 2013" group.
How do you post role? Again, the welcome center will tell you best but since ive been doing it for nearly 6 months now let me try to explain it.
Go to community and then quit groups tab. Find your March 2013 group in bold near the top and click on it. You will see some names with their quit numbers next to them (probably very few names with low numbers right now). Now...hit the "Quote" tab at the upper left. 2 boxes will appear. The top one will be blank and the bottom one will be a copy of the role. Go to the bottom box and left click your mouse, then right click it and choose "select all". Once all the text in the bottom box is highlighted right click your mouse again and select "CUT" (not copy). Now go to the blank top box and left click your mouse so the cursor appears, then right click and select "Paste". All the info from the bottom box will appear in the top box. Go to the bottom of the list, place the cursor after the last entry from your quit group (not supporters, who will have higher numbers), add your name and quit number to the bottom of the list and then hit "add reply" at the bottom left and you have just posted role.
Its sounds more complicated than it really is. Hopefully I didn't confuse you, lol. Like I said going to the welcome center might be most helpful.
