Welcome Clint! Thank you so much for your service! Your D-Day started 1/29/13...then D-Day plus 1...plus 2...plus 3...etc....(I'm a big WWII history nut)
I'm also a 25 year can a day nicotine degenerate. However...since I joined KTC I have been able to go 61 days with no nicotine. So if I can Quit....You can Quit!!

Find your group and post roll each and every day. I use Strawberry gum and pickle sunflower seeds as my crutch... and of course this website. There are some great dudes here.

I know you can do this....one day at time. A Quit Veteran told me on my D-Day (Dec. 1st. 2012).....Hope is for pussies...Real Men Quit!

Be safe and stay QUIT. Thank you again for your service. You have our back and we have yours. KC Bronco

Thanks everyone.  I pledged for the first day today in the May group.  After looking, there are 4 of us on day 1 so I picked a good day and a good group to quit.  I've never eaten so many sunflower seeds in my life!
Keep at it. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Ask members of your group for cell numbers. Ask some of the vets for the same. We'll get you through this. This site got me away from the shit after 15 years of nearly a can a day. If I can you can too.
All good words from Sporticus.

allow me to add the Live Chat option. Log in there whenever you have a crave - they'll talk you out of any moment of weakness. Not to mention, you'll also really get to know guys and that itself will strengthen your quit.

Hello quitters.  I'm Clint and today is my day 1.  I have tried to quit several times over the past year and have failed every attempt.  I've come to the realization that I'm failing because I've been trying to quit alone.  My wife doesn't understand the relapse and this has created a cycle.  I'm hoping to break that cycle, start fresh and with all of your help quit everyday for the rest of my life.  About me.... I'm in the military and am stationed in Germany.  I've lived here in Germany for 7 1/2 years.  I started smoking 20 years ago and began dipping when I joined the military 15 years ago.  I did both until last year when I quit smoking.  Dipping has been a bigger struggle for me to quit.  Thanks in advance for your help and support.
First, thank you for your service to our country.

Second, there is no "hope" here, only quit. Do it or don't, no hope, luck, or try.

Now, go read everything in the Welcome Center"

You know, my wife doesn't get it either, but maybe the "spouse support" section will help you out: Spouse Support Section

You can do this. Follow this basic philosophy and see.

Wake up, post roll (give your word) to not use nic in any way shape or form today, keep your word, repeat tomorrow. Doesn't get much easier.
Evil, You have to teach me how to use those amazing toys you have!!
No way! That sounds ghey! Grab a fuck-book, go hide in the shitter, you'll figure it out soon enough.

Clint - Welcome. Post Roll, Posting roll is your promise to yourself and all of us that you will stay quit today! Tommorow when you get up get your ass back here and post roll. One day at a time. Everyone on this site is YOU, we have all tried to quit and failed. We have all lied to our spouces. We have all lied to ourselves. Clint i'm not one of the vetrans here, I have been quit for 15 hard as a mother fucking days. Like you I wanted to be quit for a long time, only reason neither of us were is simple, we are pussy's and the Nic Bitch was fucking us hard. Stay here, come back often, be thrilled with 1 day quit at a time. Good luck and thanks for the service to our country!
