SirDerek

oh the broken promises as we grew up, the story is all too familiar as like you I have 2 children and of course made that same promise.....that was 11 and 14 years ago though....

But I finally came to my senses 162 days ago and have now kept that promise, and continue to keep it here each day, one day at a time.

Yell (message) me if you need anything. I quit with you today.

Hi All- glad I found this forum as I just started my journey and am sure at some points I will need to lash out at somebody so it might as well be someone I can play armchair general with.

Let's see, I have been dipping for the last 10 years pretty regularly about 1-2 cans a week. Before that I used to get my fix from smoking when I drank and dipping when I didn't. Unfortunately, nicotine for a long time has always been part of my life and I haven't wanted to nor did I make any concentrated efforts to quit.

I promised myself when my first daughter was born I would quit, that was 4 years ago. I promised myself when my second daughter was born I would quit, that was two years ago. I didn't quit and I still dipped until 4 days ago when I actually said fuck it, this is stupid and I don't need this shit.

So I stopped on November 27th but then I had a smoke on December 6th because I was drinking and stupid, the clock starts again. I am now 4 days free of nicotine and am destroying packs of gum but I haven't broken down and had a dip so its a start.
