I stumbled across this site in a search for a healthy alternative to dipping. I have wanted to quit for a little over a year now and have been unsuccessful for various reasons. The biggest one that I have found is not being able to find a good alternative. I've noticed that as of late it seems that I don't dip for the need but more out of boredom and the need to have something in my lip. I have previously tried using the Smokey mountain mint but to no avail as it was nowhere near the texture I was accustomed to. Last night I ordered the hooch sampler in an effort to make my quit stay this time. I know I have a long road ahead and just wondered if anyone else had found alternatives to be helpful and which ones everyone thought to be the best. I'm not only doing this quit for myself but also for my 16 month old son as well as my mom who passed away in May of breast cancer but also in the same token helped me realize that life is too short to keep hurting myself and the loved ones around me. It definitely feels a lot better this time around knowing that I'll have others close by who have experienced everything that I'm about to experience and came out on the other side victorious. I never knew this existed until now and I'm thankful for everyone who takes the time to post and help others such as myself.
As far as my planned quit, I should be started the day before thanksgiving as long as the replacement arrives which is supposed to be early next week. I know many people are going to say that I need to quit now but I can't given the past unsuccessful attempts. 'bang head'
You've come along way Moof, grats! Let's do it again tomorrow.

I'm glad you are here. I'm glad that you seem to have bought in and dumped your can and stash. But you have to understand what these guys have been telling you - about owning the fact of being an ADDICT.

Like others have said, using fake is ok...it can even be helpful in the right situations - I certainly used it from time to time. I found this site 998 days ago while looking for the same thing you were - a SAFE way to keep doing what I was doing. There is no SAFE way to kill your self. The best thing you can do is get it through your thick skull, the same way we all have had to, that you MUST change your way of life - you have to stop putting the crap in your body and you need to do it NOW - for you.

There are lots of resources here for you - both in the writing, as well as the people willing to extend a hand in your direction through digits and text. Take them all up on it and load your shopping cart up with resources...

You've got this - as long as YOU want it, for as long as YOU want it...
Blah...Blah...Blah...You keep TALKIN....I'll keep QUITTIN

I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to support YOUR quit.

I ordered every fucking fake chew they made when I quit. NONE of them did what I thought, afterall they had no nicotine. I actually found that some gummy ass mint shit I got at Meijers, which tasted 180 degrees opposite of my kodiak helped me most. The closer the taste of kodiak the more pissed my brain would get at me. But...that was just me.

Fake shit is ok, but don't expect it to be some magical cure all. You're still gonna have to bust your balls and lean on this site. You got this shit bro. We're here to help!

Nothing wrong with finding a replacement. I used fake dip for the first 90 days, still have some for an emergency but haven't opened a can since day 130 or so! The realization that you are an addict is a big step and really truly wanting to quit will lead you to flushing your stash and drinking the quit koolaid! There is no easy Way around detox and withdrawal! Quit and come to us and let us help you realize you can do it just like we did! EMBRACE the SUCK!!

Why you didn't "quit" before? because they were "attempts!" A "quit" is a different frame of mind and it takes balls. The way to start a "quit" is to throw that shit away now! If you want to make another "attempt" continue your plan.
If you really want to "quit" you can, and we are here to help you, but you need to listen:
1. Dump all your shit in the toilet right now.
2. Read the "Welcome Center" tab on the top left of this page.
3. After you "quit" post roll and make your promise
4. Read everything you can, get some phone numbers, and go into the live chat.
The reason you are having a hard time finding a replacement is because the fake stuff doesn't have nicotine in it, and you are an addict. "Fake Chew is like a women without holes"
If you really are serious about this quit, I will be here to support and help you, but while you are stuffing that shit in you lip I cannot, it is weak!

First of all, stop fooling yourself.

You are a nicotine addict. You do not enjoy shoving a weed into your mouth for pleasure. That weed has attached itself to the nerve receptors in your brain and is telling them that the only path to happiness runs through a can of chewing tobacco.

You are wrong.

You can quit because we did.

The key to quitting is not finding a replacement of chew in your lip. It is changing your life to not include nicotine.

You can do this.
In the end I Surrender, I and I alone accept that I have and always will have a Nicotene ADDICTION. It is my choice to quit, but I can't do it alone. I get to go down this path one time, I want to do it right. I recognize that my word, my integrety to you is on the line and is only as good as my actions. Caving is not an option in this plan-Eafman 7/11

I am not cured. I will quit one day at a time. I will continue to do what works. Posting roll everyday. To do otherwise would be foolish on my part. You can do this-Ready 12/11

To overcome your addiction you must comprehend what it means to fail-Razd 3/12

Theres a lot of people that come here, especially vets, that WANT to be reminded that they are addicts.-Tarpon 6/12

Just as a building starts with architectural drawings. Your daily quit begins with a promise.-Scowick 2/13

Here and now, focused on today, minute by minute, whatever it takes, I promise to all my bros and myself not to become a negative stat and stay quit!-krok 1/15

I want everyone to be quit. Even the assholes.-Probe1957 1/18

Ignoring history or erasing history fixes nothing and leads you inevitably down the same path.-69franx 04/30/2021
