Ok. I posted to my quit group and feeling good about it. Thanks for all the advice and help initially. To answer a few questions...

I do want to quit for myself. I hate closing my office door for an afternoon chew, I hate not being able to drive without it and I hate the way it consumes me. You all know the feeling.

Yes, I am going to use this site and roll call every day.
Speak it brother...I am tired or pretending to drink Green Mountain Coffee when it is really my "secret" spitter. I am with you and will quit with you today.

My name is Jeff and I have been chewing for about 9 years. This is not my first attempt, but I can't say that I really tried any of those times. I always took a week off and then would say "Ill just buy and can and throw it away when I am done golfing." Of course that does not work. Im sick of the pain it has caused my wife and I am ready to change.
Hey Jeff,

Hey, I am a nicotine addict. I hate typing that, but alas, it is true. I have placed a link here for you to read, it is called "The Law of Addiction"

http://www.killthecan.org/robs/law.asp

I like posting this because it reminds me of who I am what decision I can NEVER make.

Here is a another link called "What you need to hear" by CCM.

index.php?showtopic=3861

We are in this together. The good news is all you have to to is quit 1 day at a time. Not forever, just today. I quit with you.

Jeff,

We've all said the same thing. This is not a special situation. We are all addicts here. We can control our actions. We cannot control our addictions.

Come on over to October, post roll call, and check those private messages again. I just sent you my cell phone number. Use it. Get a few other's numbers. Use them. Say hi. Bitch. Whatever.

Use this board primarily. There's great advice everywhere here. Like I said, your quit is not special. There's a good chance that somebody here has gone/is going through the exact same shit you are during your quit.

Don't forget to laugh sometimes too.
In the end I Surrender, I and I alone accept that I have and always will have a Nicotene ADDICTION. It is my choice to quit, but I can't do it alone. I get to go down this path one time, I want to do it right. I recognize that my word, my integrety to you is on the line and is only as good as my actions. Caving is not an option in this plan-Eafman 7/11

I am not cured. I will quit one day at a time. I will continue to do what works. Posting roll everyday. To do otherwise would be foolish on my part. You can do this-Ready 12/11

To overcome your addiction you must comprehend what it means to fail-Razd 3/12

Theres a lot of people that come here, especially vets, that WANT to be reminded that they are addicts.-Tarpon 6/12

Just as a building starts with architectural drawings. Your daily quit begins with a promise.-Scowick 2/13

Here and now, focused on today, minute by minute, whatever it takes, I promise to all my bros and myself not to become a negative stat and stay quit!-krok 1/15

I want everyone to be quit. Even the assholes.-Probe1957 1/18

Ignoring history or erasing history fixes nothing and leads you inevitably down the same path.-69franx 04/30/2021

So Jeff, what are you going to do differently this time? Are you going to use this site as it was designed and post roll every day? Not sure how to post roll? Here is how: index.php?showtopic=50 You are in the October quit group. Get in there and post your promise not to dip today.

Welcome Jeff,

First and foremost...I do not want you trying to quit this time around. Do or don't. Trying is having the intention to fail.

Secondly, you need to make damn sure you are doing this for you and only you. If it's not for you then you will fail. If you quit for her...first time ya'll get in a fight about some stupid shit...you will run straight to a can just to piss her off.

Welcome.

Check your inbox, upper right corner of your screen.

Read everything so you understand what posting roll means. Then, if you are ready, go post roll.

Keep your word.
