Folks...you are owed an explanation as to why I left KTC. No, it wasn't because of just a little spat; I have already forgiven and forgotten that little tempest in a teapot.

I noticed, around the time I hit HOF, that there was a corrosive element in KTC. I'm referring to the whole "if you leave KTC, you will CAVE AND DIE ZOMG AIEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111" mentality. To me, that is nothing but a substitute addiction. I've heard of people who go to truly unreasonable extremes just to post roll, even to the point of neglecting other duties in their lives. This is nothing short of ridiculous, and I won't be a part of it. You say you went to extremes to get a can? Sure you did; we all did. I won't engage in addictive behavior for anything - not for a quid and not for a roll post. Not to mention the rampant homophobia, transphobia, and sexism. Really, where did the term "nic bitch" come from? If we wouldn't tolerate "nic nigger" or "nic kike", then why tolerate "nic bitch"? Patriarchy strikes again, I reckon. There's also the fact that personifying nicotine as some panmalefic betrays a childish mentality on par with belief in the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus. Grow up, the lot of you.

We speak of Brotherhood and Accountability. I am willing to fellowship in Brotherhood with any of you who are prepared to be positive. There's a reason why I left my real email address in my profile when I left KTC - to enable those who wish to contact me. If you have my digits, feel free to text me whenever you wish. I know that I promised to be Accountable until I reached 400 days. I will do that Promise one better - I give you my word that I will never use nicotine again and I will never change my mind. I further promise that should I cave, I will be back to post a Day One and answer the caver questions to the best of my ability. Note that being positive does not include doom and gloom threats that I will face a horrific fate worse than death if I don't WUPPEDD. Stop pretending you have the only way to recover - to hear some of you talk, no one ever quit nicotine before KTC's founding.

I have taken up posting on the Facebook group WhyQuit. You may find it here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/whyquit/ - that is where I will be posting from now on. If you have Facebook, feel free to join that group. You'll get a good bunch of people who offer positive reinforcement without any sexist / homophobic / transphobic babble - which, I suspect, will exclude most of you.

I view recovery as going through a process - call it a metaphorical college, where students gather together to learn how to "cope without dope". The students support each other as they go through post-acute withdrawals and learn new ways to navigate the world while staying clean. Once they gain this mastery, they graduate. The reason why KTC cannot be this sort of college is because of its apparent insistence that its old-timers (HOF, Comma Club, etc) remain stuck in the last day of Twelfth Grade, Groundhog Day style. I've decided to claim my Quit Diploma and graduate. I have forged and shaped a new lifestyle in which nicotine plays no part. I invite you all to join me. Sure, we can still have Brotherhood and Accountability - as alumni, not students. This will mean accepting each other exactly as we are, unconditionally.

I see that some of you are trembling with disgust and outrage at the way I write. How dare I be so disrespectful, I hear you asking. I'd submit that this attitude you are displaying is a major reason why I'm leaving. If this is you, I do not desire to hear from you. If I've given you my digits, tear them up and forget them. I am only interested in positive people, not delicate people who perceive offense in a little straight talk. I don't object to you calling me out; I do object to doom and gloom prophecies. As the sign in the roadhouse goes, Be Nice Or Leave. Oh yes; don't bother asking me about my day count. I've stopped counting. My Quit date is 11/11/2016 at 3:30AM USA Eastern time. Feel free to calculate the days for yourself.

One final thing: Once I post this response, I will log out of KTC, never to return. If you wish me to see your response, you will have to copy and paste it into a Private Message.

I wish you all my very best. Stay Safe.
Frobozz.
This was Frobozz's declaration when he left for good, never to return. Well except to enter new groups harass new quitters, criticize them for not following rules and by no means follow rules himself.

This is ironic, Did God tell you to come here and quit? Did God tell you to get angry and storm out when you realized you were not in charge? Did God tell you to swear you would never return and vanish for 6 months? And then did God tell you to come back, post in pink declaring it was just to make others angry? Did he tell you to grab a new quit group, try to take control of it and judge those who post late or don't post after you missed 6 months of posting? Did he tell you to blatantly disregard the Board Guideline rule to post in your own group first? I don't think so.

I supported you all the way to HOF. I posted with you every damn day. Then you stormed out and swore KTC off. So why are you back? Why do you try to degrade new quitters? If you believe in God so much then you also know that one of Gods commands is you must admit when you are wrong and make it right. You need to go back into Feb. 17 and apologize for being such a jerk and ask them to accept you back in. Because until you do that you are violating the Board Guidelines.

Thank you all for your responses. Incidentally, I didn't quit on my own - I recalled the words of the great Martin Luther: 'Pray, and let God worry'. One does not need to be a Lutheran - or any other kind of Christian - to appreciate the sentiment.

I prayed up my nicotine addiction to the Supreme Deity, and walked with Him for my first month. It was recently that the Supreme Deity told me that He had given me enough Divine Power to maintain my quit forever. But...there's a catch. I have to network with other quitters, get some accountability partners, pray for His daily guidance first thing every morning, and - when I'm ready - teach others how to become and stay free from the dip can. So I did some research, and found this community.

Well, that's it for now. It's late and I'm tired. I'm going to go to bed soon, then back to post roll tomorrow morning. See y'all then.

Ta and that,
Jim.
As we travel through life Satan puts things in our path to trip us up and enslave us (like nicotine). The Lord puts things in our path to set us free (like KTC). Proud to quit with you today.

...wondering what comes next.

Ah; I forgot to introduce myself. Apologies.

My name is Jim. I spat out the last quid 44 days ago. Now that the nicotine is gone, and the honeymoon is over, I find myself asking...now what? Although I tend to be an introverted autodidact by nature, I suppose that networking with others would help in getting me to keep this quit. I am very keen on staying nicotine free, by the grace of God and a few good friends.

Thank you in advance.

MikeK Day-173 I quit with you today
Hi Jim and welcome to KTC. Quitting for 44 days on your own is awesome, with the help of KTC you can continue your quit. I too am an introvert and found it hard to accept the idea of support and accountability used here at first, but it works. Read everything you can on here and become fully invested. Exchange digits (phone number) with members for support and accountability. This may seem unusual but it works. I you want you can pm me for mine. I quit with you today.
