Welcome Alan! Congrats on making the decision and for taking the important first step. Day 5 for me.....after a 10-11 year habit. Fake stuff is helping me ALOT!!! One hour...one day at a time. We are all in the same boat.

Alan - welcome to the quit. I'm a 30 year dipper and I'm 80 days clean. It's hard but you can do it. Drink lots of water, juice, get some seeds, fake stuff. For me, dip was so much a part of me that the fake stuff helped bridge the gap. Then as kdip said, make connections with Dec. read everything, find outlets for your rage, stress... nows a good time to start walking, jogging.

When the rage hits, learn to control it. Vent on this site, not the family. Post up and keep your word, you will be amazed at the support you will get.

If you need a contact, PM or email me via the buttons below. I"ll give you my contact info.

Glad you joined us.

I quit with Alan today. Not the old Alan, only the new Alan! Also make sure that you don't have any other cans stashed around in the car, house, desk, old coats.... you will have triggers everywhere you turn for awhile, so when a trigger hits be ready.
Quit Date: 6/14/10 Hof Date: 9/21/10

Alan, you've come to the right place if you truly want to quit!!! You can DO this but it won't be easy. Read everything this site has to offer and stay close for the next 3 or 4 days as they are going to SUCK!!! Go over to the December 2010 group and introduce yourself. They will be you lifeline!!! Also check out live chat if you need to talk about what you are going through "live". Congrats on the BEST decision you will ever make!!!
