Welcome txjones. Come and post roll in April 2013 as well as your group. You will get bumped off our roll though. Give a shout if you need anything.

Hey guys!

I'm done with the dipping. I can't stand sneaking in 30 minutes to an hour here and there so I can deplete my gums further in hopes of some short-term relief.

I'm a 32 year old returned student, working on a second bachelor's and then master's. I dipped in every possible period of time where I could get alone and relax.

I have dipped since I was 16 and have been on and off again with brand, consistency, and quantity, but the last 3 years have been around 1 can a day of Copehagen long-cut. I really thought I was a badass doing that stuff, and I became a slave to it.

I am sober almost 5 years and this dip has been one of the things I have tried to hang on to.

Well fuck that. I don't want any part of it.

I am scared about how my brain is going to function over the next few weeks as I have some tests, but I have to quit and I can't wait till summer. Who knows what excuse I'd come up with come May? Many.

Anyway, I look forward to this and to the fellowship of being surrounded by quitters. Thank you for building this community folks.
TX Welcome to the group brother! Jump on in to and read, get your water ready and drink so much of it if you pass a bathroom and don't piss, you're not drinking enough. Seed candy gum whatever, keep your mouth occupied. Yes, it may be hard to function for the next few weeks, but it will clear up and you will be ahead of the addiction at that point. Your surrounded by other bad ass quitters. I quit with you today.

KKLJINC, day 33 QLF
Always good to see another texan here, and being a Texan I trust you'll stick it to the nic bitch even more so. I saw you posted day 2, awesome, congrats, now do it everyday. Posting roll is you giving your promise that you will not use nicotine today, one day at a time, that's how we quit here. Don't fuck with roll, we take it serious, if you post you're quit, no caving that day.

Welcome again, pm me if you need a number, pm all your quit brothers for numbers...the more you have the stronger your support system the stronger your quit.
Thanks!
Congrats on making the leap brother. I guarantee you you can do this. The little voice that says you can't go a day without your nic, It's A BIG LIE. It really is a lie. Be determined to get through the first couple of days...then you'll know what everyone is talking about. If I may add one thing to all the great advices posted here, any kind of exercise, be it running, lifting, biking, will help you shut down your caves.
