Congrats on reaching the 100 days away from that evil can. Your HOF speech was great. Hope to see you stay active on here.

Glad you're here. Looks like lots of great advice here. If you want to stay quit, then don't leave and don't stop using the site. Welcome!

Wow read your posts in January and your profile....act like you've been here before. Grow up and own your quit.
From what I am reading from his former quit group, Jake has chosen to leave rather than face being held accountable for his decision to cave.

Jake, it is unfortunate that you rejected the people who were simply trying to make sure you understood what went wrong and how to be successful this time.

Stop back when you are ready to be held accountable, but don't expect the reception to be any different. Actually you should hope that you come back to people that want to hold you accountable for your decisions. Without them roll call might as well take place on your refrigerator.
Welcome back Jake, I am happy to be proven wrong in this case. Use all of this to make your quit stronger.

So I have been a member of KTC for a little while, since March of this year I believe, but this is the very first post I have ever posted. I joined back in March with all intentions of quitting dip once and for all, for the umpteenth time. Only I didn't stay quit, and fell victim of this garbage once again. Now in August my wife and I welcomed our newest and third child into this world and once again the thought "you need to quit before your face is disfigured or worse you die" came rushing back into my head and up to now I just continued to ignore it, out of stupidity or just out of habit that every time my can got empty I went in to pay for gas or a cup of coffee only to find myself saying "give me a can of copenhagen". "Once this can is empty thats it" I would tell myself, yeah right. Well, yesterday morning, I didn't wait for that can to get empty, I threw it away. I have some Jakes mint chew to get me through the oral fixation that I know I will miss.
Heres what I need from you, I think this website will help me through, that all of you will help support me in my quit, but I just can't figure out how to use it LOL. I used to think myself "computer smart" but now I'm one of those "flashing 12:00" people (I am getting old I know). I am not sure if it may have something to do with the fact that I am not using a PC but a Mac, so if any of you have any tips please, I want to use the power of the internet to get support to Kill the Can once and for all.

Nice intro Jake. I love the line about getting old. You're actually blessed to have made this decision when you did. This site wasn't around when I was 40, so I probably tossed my Cope at least one time a year, until I finally found this site right before my 50th birthday. Never could stay quit without KTC. Since our birthdays are almost exactly ten years apart, this means that I spent ten more years than you as a slave to nicotine, and that is a decade that I will never get back. Wise move Dave.......There is real power in here. Pay attention to the vets. But, above all, STAY QUIT!

My name is David and I am an addict.

Hi Jake,

welcome to March2013 quit group. That is when we will all hit 100 days quit and enter the Hall of Fame. Not that any of us are concentrating on that right now.

We worry about today. Nice job posting roll, it took me three days to figure that out. I can't help with the MAC questions, but if you figured out posting roll all ready the rest will come with a little practice and reading.

I sent you a PM with my number, you will find this site is about personal accountability and support. One way of getting and receiving both is by swapping numbers with as many guys as you can. Posting roll every day as early as you can is also important.

Good job on day 2, I will quit with you today.

Nice intro Dave. Glad to have you. Success only takes balls and determination. Read everything here and use the knowledge that you gain to fight on one more second, one more hour, one more day. As for the tech help...Im the wrong guy for that. Im sure someone more qualified will be glad to assist you. You got this.

  • Interests: My family and my Harley.I joined this site in March of 2012, it took me until December 2012 to finally quit, suck it up and post roll. I had won win I hit 100 right? So I stopped posting roll and walked away from the accountability that held me quit. I failed on my own. September 2014, coming back and having a rough start, this is it. I can NEVER stop being held accountable. I don't want to die all cause I put some worm dirt in my lip. Want to watch my kids have kids and hell maybe their kids. My LIFE DEPENDS ON STAYING QUIT. Bottom line.
