I have already come clean with my family and most of my close friends. I feel that it will help be be accountable and equally important it's nice not having the burden of this secret hanging over our relationship.

My advice would be you need to come clean with your family. I am sure it will not be easy and what else will not is quitting without support of the people clsoe to you. Only my opinion, I cant tell you what to do but think about it.

i know the feeling. only a few of my friends knew about my addiction, but the whole 5 years i've known my wife she never knew i did it. it was a very shameful feeling.

welcome to the suck, km. great decision to quit, and great decision to get involved here at KTC. i was a closet dipper too.

i'm wrapping up day 5... it's been hard, but not as hard as i made it out to be in my head. get sunflower seeds, gum (no nicotine), hard candy, and some fake chew. you'll need it; especially for the weekend.

post roll every day and keep your word. one day at a time. it's simple, but not easy.

let me know what i can do to help you...

Thank you all for your kind words and inspiration. I've started reading all the info in the welcome center. I'll make sure I can figure out how to join a group and post roll call.

Hey there.

http://www.killthecan.org/community/welcome.asp

Above is some reading material to get you started.

Closet dipping? Pretty basic behavior of an addict. I did it too. Many others on this site did it as well.

You need to quit dipping, and quit today. Read the info and go over and "post roll" here: index.php?showtopic=4651

What we do around here is quit one day at a time. You can quit for just today can't you? I did. If you have any questions just ask. I am in chat right now if you want to pop over? We can help you there.

Congratulations on your choice to quit. I wish I could offer some advice, but I am just starting the battle with you. Look around this site though, there are helpful tips all over the place. One day at a time....

Hello all,

First of all i'm really glad to have found this web site. I've been dipping for 20 years. That said, I'm what you would call a "closet dipper". I told my wife I quit years ago and sneak around her, my kids, friends. It's really pathetic. I do not want to live this way anymore. My eldest daughter found a can of my dip the other day and I just broke down and fessed up to my whole family. I looked my 3 girls in the eye and told them I would never dip again. I don't want to break my word to my own kids. I'm quitting for myself but they are my inspiration.

It's time to wage war on this addiction. This is my second day without a dip and it's a bitch but i want to do this. I'm open to any helpful suggestions.

Thanks in advance.
