If you need motivation, read this:

Quitters, I want to encourage all of you especially you folks who are having a tough time and thinking about caving. A good friend of mine was recently diagnosed with mouth cancer. His name is David. He has been a smoker most of his life. I got to see him yesterday and his tongue so swollen that he can barely talk. He is in excruciating pain. David goes in tomorrow to have all of his bottom teeth removed. He gets to recover from the surgery over Thanksgiving. The week after Thanksgiving he goes back in to have his entire tongue removed. David will have to be fed through a tube from that day forward. He will also have to learn sign language to communicate. Look, we all know that cancer is bad but, it really hit home for me seeing my friend David like that. Seeing him also made me so incredibly thankful that I found this site and quit dipping! Its simply not worth it!! Stay quit my friends. And if any of you need help reach out! We will help you, I will do my best to help you!

Yeah FUCK this stuff. I really just noticed after some searching, what I thought was simply a loss of skin in my mouth is actually leukoplakia, or at least based on some other pictures, it's a series of white lines where I held my dip that feel bumpy on my tongue. That's scary. I'm done, I just scraped my can out into the toilet.

Hopefully this time next week my mouth is looking better.
Anyone else get this, or is it not leukoplakia?

This has definitely got me motivated.
Now that you've dumped the shit where shit belongs, go post roll. The meaning and instructions can be found in the salmon colored welcome center link in the top left hand corner of the page.

Bear in mind that your mouth will probably get worse before it gets better. Most quitters go through that. I sure as hell did. I got a canker sore in my lip/cheek (yea, that big) that made me so miserable I pretty much quit talking for 5 days. It made the first few days easier to be honest. Every time I thought about packing a fatty, there was that searing pain in my mouth, sensitive even to drinking water. Expect to shed that dead skin in your cheek too. What you did robes sounds exactly how mine looked, and I pulled it out in little thin sheets until day 8 or so. It's all just part of your mouth healing and getting revenge on you for the constant abuse. Embrace this torment. Remember it down the road when you want to cave. The hell you're about to walk through can be the fat you store away to keep your quit healthy later.
Listen to these guys! When your mouth starts healing and you have that big sigh of relief that its not cancer the bitch will be setting on your shoulder coaxing you to give her another chance! As for how long it takes to heal? Everyone is different, my tongue hurt like hell right on into the 3rd month. But I have been an addict for 40 years. Make quitting your #1 priority right before your morning piss! If you don't believe me you can check each month out and look at thier spreadsheets, see who caved!
Uh uh sir, I really legitimately do not plan on using nicotine again. My mouth being healed will be no excuse for me, I'm well aware of both the cravings for smoking and dipping and I think now, after having "tried" a few times before with smoking I know what does and doesn't work. The difference is is that this time I really know that I can go on forever without a smoke or a dip, whereas before I was just lying to myself.

If you don't toss the can now, you're a fucking Sally. It's as simple as that.

Only a moronic, unintelligent, stagnant puddle of cunt juice would put take one more pinch of death. That pinch you're considering might be the one that starts the proverbial cancer ball rolling. It might be the one that FUCKING KILLS YOU. There can never be just one more.

When the finality of death by cancer really sets in, you won't be wondering what to do any more.

Quitting dipping, one question
« on: November 15, 2012, 06:01:00 PM »
Hey my name is Cameron and I'm from Massachusetts, I'm 18.
It just came to me that I need to quit using tobacco. I've been ignoring the consequences for far too long, I had smoked for about five years, and have been using dip in an attempt to "stop" smoking for the last six months but I was really just feeding my nicotine addiction. I've decided to stop. I'm young and I don't want to ruin my health anymore than I already have. In just this six months of using dip the gum line on both of my canines have shrunk by at least 1 cm and then swelled up, it makes my breath horrible and my teeth are yellow. It definitely does a lot more damage a lot faster to the mouth than smoking.

I have but one question. Take a last dip, or just tough it out? It's 6pm and I haven't dipped in about 4 hours, the cravings have set in full swing, should I enjoy one last peaceful night or go balls to the wall and chuck the can out of the window?
