Pete, if you quit today it is DAY 1 tomorrow is DAY 2. Just so you know. I quit with ya all day long. you will figure out roll call. You may screw it up a few times but you will get it. There are experts here that will fix it for you. You just post your name, days quit, and promise to quit that day and the rest will take care of itself.

Welcome, Pete! Once you figure out roll be sure to check out all the other places on the site - especially the Words of Wisdom section. Reading all the stories in there really helped solidify my quit and helped me push through the first few days!

So I've read the blog and post and watched the video and still have no idea how to do a roll call. I can't find the latest post to start it with. I'll keep trying as it's keeping my mind of the store I'll pass on my way home from work I always go to for dip.

My stash is gone but I thought you had to post roll call in the morning and to be honest I said good bye to my last dip this morning which maybe wasn't the smartest idea.

Love the encouragement though and hope you and others can help me through the dark days...
Good for you dumping your stash. Post roll now and promise not to dip the rest of the day. Wake up tomorrow and post roll again. Pete, I'm sure you are feeling the affects of the poison withdrawals already. I'm on day 23, and let me tell you, it gets a whole lot better. You are not far from feeling good. I'm quit with you today.

Great decision, Pete. We are here for you. Sounds like you figured out that posting roll is important to us here at KTC. It is your promise to not use nicotine for that day. Honestly, I think you should consider dumping whatever dip you have left down the toilet and quitting now. It won't be any easier tomorrow morning. The first few days are going to suck bad, as you know, but you will survive. You can do it.

Pete, welcome.

I noticed your quit date is 8.28. Why not flush whatever stash you have left and make your quit date today buddy?

Pete's Intro
« on: August 27, 2014, 02:58:00 PM »
Hi, My name is Pete and I'm a dipaholic.

Tomorrow morning will be my first morning posting "roll call" if I figure out how to do it. 18 years ago when I was in high school my buddies and I stumbled upon a can of Kodiak. We all played sports and knew many older h.s. kids that dipped so we figured we would give it a shot. We did, and think all of us got blue in the face and I think a few people puked their brains out. You think that would be a good indicator to not try it again but it didn't matter. Someone told us to try Skoal as it tasted better and didn't burn as much. So we did and since then I've been a slave to skoal straight. I've tried to quit many times but never had my heart fully into it. I tried the patch, gum, and mints with no success and know I have to make the decision to do this cold turkey which is how I stumbled onto this site. Reading the reasons why to quit I had to chuckle at how many applied to me. My wife would say after my morning shit "how many cosby kids did you talk to this morning". Little did she know I was dipping on the can spitting in the toilet trying to miss my 3rd leg. I've falled asleep on the couch with a dip in and wake up to a huge brown spot on the cushion that I can't explain the next morning.

I WANT to quit and NEED to quit and will need your help doing so. I have a year and a half year old a home and another on the way and need to be there for them. I look forward to re-reading the post 100 days from now and saying "I survived the first 100 days" and I can't believe how I let big tobacco control my life.

Onward and upward!
