My advice to you is to... Post roll today ... Admit you are an addict that is a slave to nicotine ... Then stay quit today... Do whatever it takes to keep that garbage out of your mouth and do not give in.... Only worry about today ... read all u can on the site and get involved ... Go to bed ... Wake up and repeat.

I'm turning 30 in December, I have been dipping for about 12 years. My daughter turned 1 recently and I fear I'll die young if I don't quit and won't be able to be around to raise her.

The thing is, I don't crave the buzz, I don't swallow, I just need something in my mouth when doing certain things: driving, cold whether, computer, etc.

I've quit successfully for a few weeks, but always start back up.

I want to quit for good. I know better but it's difficult especially when I do the things that that trigger the urge daily. Tomorrow will be my day 1.

Any advice?
Welcome Schmoog! 12 years of dip = 1 addict. We've all been there or are there now. I use to tell myself the same thing - I just need something in my mouth, helps me think. This addiction will KILL you, your thoughts are correct - if you keep dipping this poison it will kill you one day. Think of it this way, the sooner you quit, the sooner this shit will be out of your system. We quit everyday, one day at a time. Believe what the vets are saying, they know the enemy inside and out. I've been quit 106 days and the change in the way I feel is very noticeable. Post roll in your group, PM me if you need a number. You're safe now... Jarrod

You are doing the right thing by coming here for help! I know the feeling of having to have something in your lip. That's the only thing I ever cared about is just having something there to pass the time, usually when I was bored. It takes some time to just sit and think to yourself that this is the right thing to do for yourself and for your family. Don't choose the can over them man. I'm 6 days quit right now and I feel so much better even after almost a week. If you need someone to talk to, you can email me on here or pm me your number and we can keep each other on track!

Hey Schmoog. Welcome to KTC. Glad to hear you are "planning" your quit instead of actually doing it. Just think, if you don't do it you can look down from heaven after cancer robs you of your life and look upon your pretty wife doing the nasty with her new hubby, who just kissed your little girl goodnight and she responded to him by saying "Goodnight Daddy." Nice picture, isn't it?

Or you can throw that shit in the trash where it belongs right now and declare today that you are free from the grasp of the poisonous can and join us. Joining us means you will do a few things. First and foremost, you will post Roll. Roll is your daily promise to yourself and all of your new brothers and sisters that you will not use tobacco in any form that day. You will post your name and the number of days you are quit each day in the February 2014 quit group. Each and every day you will post your promise. No exceptions. That is the price of admission to KTC. Nothing more and nothing less. The reason you are put in February is that will be the month that you will celebrate being 100 days free of nicotineÂ…your Hall of Fame date. But you must quit first!

Now that you know the basics, it is time to read all you can on this site. Go to the welcome center and that will get you started. Post roll and look up at your inbox (1). That is a personal message from me with my telephone number. Think about that new little girl of yours calling someone else Daddy and let your conscious and rage be your guide. Wayne

I have advice or several thoughts.

First, I am going to bust your balls just a bit, so don't take it personal. It's not meant to be personal.

The idea that you don't crave the buzz (known as nicotine ingestion) you just need something in your mouth is absurd.

Q:If you just "need something in your mouth" why not chewing gum or gumballs, etc?

A: Because you do crave nicotine. This is why you "quit successfully for a few weeks, but always start back up." You are addicted to nicotine. As I said, don't take it personal. I am addicted to nicotine as well. We all are.

My advice. Follow our plan. Quit one day at a time. You know it will be difficult for a while. This is why you only could quit for a while in the past. We have a pretty darn successful plan. Work it and you will quit.

Welcome to this site. You're right...you need to quit. Click on the Welcome Center Link above and read the Tom and Jenny Kern Story.

It will be hard...but not as hard as when Tom passed away with his daughter at his feet saying "daddy, don't go." Anxiety, sleeplessness, figity, headaches, etc...those probably don't suck as bad a chemotherapy, disfiguring jaw-removal surgery, feeding tubes I bet...and that is IF you live!

If you quit today, then TODAY would be Day 1. Why the fuck would you wait until tomorrow to save your own life? Join us today...for YOUR sake. You know what happens tomorrow? I don't don't either...better do it right now, huh?

Dude if you don't crave the buzz you wouldn't need the crap. Get rid of it and post roll as soon as you are free of it. Probably tomorrow if you decide that. Do to the Welcome Center tab above and find out how this all works. Read the stories. Re-read them and post roll everyday. The help will come a knockin'

Any advice...well brother you came to the right place. First make your quit decision because you want to quit. You can think about the additional years that you may live to spend with your daughter. You can do all of that in time, but for now just QUIT. You stopped before. Now I want to see you QUIT. 129 days ago my daughter who was 9yo helped open my eyes. Don't be the moron I was, quit now before she sees the addict father, that gambled his life with every pinch.

Now read up the info on the site Welcome Center

Learn how to post roll How to Post Roll

Then post Roll here Pre-HOF February 2014 Quit Group

Post Roll daily. This is your promise to stay quit, understand that KTC is all about brotherhood and Accountability. Make sure that these words mean something to you. Also understand that all of us quitters care so when a cave happens people will take that shit personally. We invest time into people and the quit groups are like tight families of quit.

Finally, I recommend that you find an alternative, fake dip, candy, gum, mints, etc. Drink lots of water, so much that you cannot pass a bathroom without having to piss.

P.S. All of the above underlined words are links to the site.

Post roll and let's go,
