You need to OWN this or... it will own you. What's it gonna be?

This place ~ These people ~ will save your life. Step in and don't look back bro, you won't regret it. Ever.
Statistics show that only 3% your age make it. I can't argue that fact,, it took me 25 years, over 25,000 dollars and a lot of lost time that I spent suckling up next to the poison.

Sure wish I had that money right now,, got a girl fixing to start college who needs a car. I got another that will be doing the same in a few years.

I'm going to say it again, because I want you to get this,, If not you then someone else! Over 25,000 (I said over, probably way over) dollars on nicotine products. 'bang head' 'bang head' 'bang head' 'bang head' 'bang head' 'bang head' 'bang head' 'bang head' 'bang head' 'bang head' 'bang head' 'bang head' 'bang head' 'bang head'..

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

Dipping is a part of many different lifestyles far beyond firefighters, but look around  name a lifestyle that you think dipping is a part of the culture,  you'll find multiple examples of guys here from that group that are successfully quit. You'll also find guys you never would've thought would be dippers are successfully quit. It's an individual choice to make, just as it is now to be quit.

Alright, Crawford....... where are you? You gotta make more than one post to make this work. The guys posting here have summed it up. Luck is nothing more than a backdoor that's left open. The way I see it, there are only two options for each and every day.

Those options are: 1.Quit. 2.Not quit.
Every day we have the choice to pick one of those options.

'fireman'  This guy is definitely a lifestyle.
'drool'  Dipping is an addiciton, not a lifestyle.

I'll admit that nicotine is rampant in the fire service. That is undeniable. It wasn't easy to quit in that environment until I got my head right. Probably 2/3 of the guys at my station either dipped or smoked. My captain had quit a year or two earlier. I finally decided if he could do it, so could I. Every time I started pitying myself because "everybody else is still doing it", I'd look around and find the captain. There he'd stand, drinking a cup of coffee. No dip. Since then, another guy has joined ranks with us. Now there are three examples that it can be done.

My point is that you can do it if you really want to. Then you can be that badass that sets the bar for the others. Don't matter that you're a youngster. You can still lead.

'fireman' i blame this guy on why i kept dipping, its part of the lifestyle we lived.
It's time to man up! Look in the mirror and blame that guy for your dipping. You made the choice every time you put that shit in your mouth, so did I. Now you can make a daily promise to not repeat that stupid decision today. Start gathering the tools to deal with your addiction. The process is simple but far from easy. So again I say man up and quit with all of us today!
Agreed.

Hope to see you posting in Dec13 today. PM me for digits.
Welcome to the site brother. I would highly recommend you stay a while, make some friends. You wished us luck and stated you had friends to keep you accountable. I appreciate it, but i don't need luck. I took luck, try and hope out of my quit 220 days ago. I posted roll and made a promise early this morning to not use for the day. I'm using the 16, 000 plus friends at KTC to keep me accountable. I like my friends here because they will tell me like it is. Join us my friend.
