Mattson 1 it's obvious you want to quit, and that is key.
What time should we expect to see you Post Roll tomorrow morning?

There's no such thing as easing off.  You are either feeding your brain nicotine or you are not.  If you are, you might as well be smoking cigarettes or dipping instead of fooling yourself into thinking that you're going to "ease off" with a poisonous chemical being fed into your bloodstream.

Sure, being in a stressful place doesn't help.  Rhester03 is in Iraq right now.  I am too.  There are other members in the May group in Afghanistan.  I'd say that's pretty stressful.  Being stressed isn't an excuse to keep feeding yourself nicotine.  If you want to quit you have to actually quit.  Quitting means no nicotine.

Man up, grab your balls, and kick the nic bitch once and for all.  You can do it, it's going to suck, and it's going to be stressful, but it's worth it.  44 days ago I did and it's been well worth it.
Hell yeah Andrew. Shit these guys are dodging bullets, you're dodging spreadsheets....which is worse?? Drop the patch, pills, anything that has nic. Then come see us and get on the quit train to freedom!

That's a good point, dodging spreadsheets is a poor excuse.
Your nic soaked mind will try to convince you every which way she can.

Tobacco does help with stress relief though. Cant be stressed when your dead.

I started quitting today. I am on the patch mostly because with the work I do (new good job), I have to ease my way into as I work in a stressful office and no one knows I dipped. Is using the patch to ease off not considered quitting? or should I ease my way off of it and then set a quit day for nicotene period? I need to quit, my job and jaw depend on it. Any hints or encouragement from anyone who has been in a similiar position is appreciated.
Cold Turkey!!
Take it from a guy who used the patch, lozenge, gum... always went back to the can. You're not dipping but you're still feeding your body nicotine.
That's like smoking crack to stop snorting coke.

Stressful job? Suck it up. You will constantly find a million reasons why you need to dip. That's what the nic bitch does.
Here's one good reason to stop- IT WILL SAVE YOUR FUCKING LIFE!!!

The patch, gum, lozenges, and all that other stuff are not quitting. All those products keep you a slave to nicotine, the same poison that the can in your backpocket has been giving you. The only way to quit, is to quit. It sucks, but you can use the resources on this site and the forum to support you on your path. Dippers consume significantly more nicotine daily than smokers, thus quitting the can is significantly harder. If withdrawl is more than you can deal with, see a doctor, you can get perscribed welbutrin or chantix for tobacco cessation.

Additionally, you cannot be a member of this site if you are still using nicotine in any form.
