Thanks everybody!
Today is day 2.  The hardest part so far is waking up in the morning and my hour drive to work.  I may give the smoky mountain stuff a try.  Is all the smokey mountain stuff nic free?
I really appreciate all the support guys!
The boss man, Chewie, has put together a comphrensive list of smokeless, non-tobacco, non-nicotine alternatives -- HERE, complete with product reviews. There are even some coupon codes if you order online, which is handy if you can't find any "fake" in stores near you.

Driving was a major issue for me. I stocked my car with flavored carbonated waters, tea bags to suck on and to stuff into my lip, hard candy, gum, toothpicks, flossers, seeds, and Atomic Fireballs. Try everything and find the one(s) that work for you.

Quitting isn't easy and is a 24/7 commitment! Welcome to KTC.

My name is mike, but my friends and buddies call me rooster.  I'm not going to start this by saying "this is my first attempt" at quitting. That sounds like theres going to be a second attempt.  I am quitting. My last dip was 4 and a half hours ago.  I want to be a quitter.

Why do I want to be a quitter? Because I want to for ME. I always do stuff for everyone else, now I want to do something for me.

I need all the advice I can get. I'm already gittery.  I honestly think I can get past the nicotene part, but the oral fixation is what's already getting to me.  I feel like I need something in my mouth.    I'm going to try altoids tomorrow.

Thank you all for helping people, and for now helping me too. I'll be seeing you all around here a lot :)
I used Smokey Mountain Fake dip for about the first 80 days of my quit. Right now bro you use anything and everything to stay quit. Anything but Nicotine to help your oral fixation urges. Hell I would chew the hell out of sunflower seeds too. My favorite was the David's Ranch flavor.

For a while I questioned whether using fake dip was right. Would I become addicted to fake dip? The answer is no. I haven't used any smokey mountain for 3.5 weeks now. I didn't make a concentrated effort to stop using it. It just came naturally.

My point is don't be afraid to use the herbal stuff. Use it as long as you need brother. Keep grinding away with the +1's. FREEDOM is calling.
Listen to this guy ^^^,, he knows how to quit. I totally agree with kc. I used the fake for around 40 days. It took a couple days to switch over to toothpicks which i'm still stuck on today.

I go to gnc and buy mint oil. I make mint toothpicks. I drive for a living and the toothpicks really help with the boredom of driving. I try to keep my toothpick usage down to a minimum but as long as it's just toothpicks,, I think I'll be ok...

Bottom line. Keep the filthy disgusting poison out. You got this. Glad to be quit with you.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

Thank you :). I may have to try that.
Once I get this site figured out a little more, I'll post here a lot
This site is hard to figure out, I still can't post roll correctly after 2 weeks. But December's thread is easier so don't let that stop you. Give it a shot. Somebody that knows what they're doing can go in  fix it up for you  give you steps on how to do it. I've got a post I can send you for mac/iphone users if you are that explains how to post roll.

Hey Mike, everyone handles the oral side of their quit in their own way. Click Here for some examples of fake dip you could try. A lot of folks just use sugarless chewing gum or sunflower seeds. David's has some bbq ones that pulled me through the first few weeks. You can get half a bushell for about 87 cents at the Wallymaht store. There is also a small colorful coalition of bad ath quittahs who seem to like the atomic firey balls to suck on. The important thing is there's no tabaccy in your yap. Welcome to the big show, bro. It takes alot to step up and finally take a stand.

On a seperate note, we quit here every day by making a promise to each other and ourselves. Your quit group is December '13.This is when you'll hit 100 days quit if you're a man of integrity. The flamingo colored welcome center up yonder has some great information as to how you copy, cut and paste your way to freedom. Shout out if you have any questions.

Mike,
We all feel your pain. We are all addicts!! We suffer the same urges from nicotine and the oral fixation. We made the choice to be done and not be a slave to the can. It sucks!! It's uncomfortable! It's always going to be there but gets a little easier as we go. The support is critical. Get phone numbers and use them. It makes all the difference. I know because I am a 27 yr user and I have quit before and have not had support. Make the commitment and then just stay away from that stuff. It never helped you and never will. It's bad!! Welcome aboard!! I am messaging you my number. Stay on the quit path my friend!!!

Welcome Mike. I'm not sure I've got much good advice to offer other than just powering through the first bits. It's tough. The fake herbal stuff was,  almost 2 weeks in still is, a lifesaver for me. Beyond that, best advice is coming on these boards. PM anyone, including me, if you want a cell #. Getting to know the guys  talking with everybody really helps.
