Alright gents on day 9 and wanted to pass along an update. My mood is much improved and my energy level is amazing. I went through the most challenging crave this week where I literally sat in my vehicle for two hours chewing gum and spitting seeds. At point I think I had gum and seeds in my mouth. Came to this site for two hours and read everything I could find. After it passed I felt like I was on top of the world. Have a long way to go and keep quitting one day at a time! Thanks to all here who have helped and continue to help.
Hell yeah. QLF. The gnarlier the crave the prouder you can be about beating it. The strength you gained that day will carry you next time things get ugly.
Glad to be quit with you.

Alright made it through day four fog was pretty easy to snap out of today and cravings were still strong. I slept very little last night which really brought on a crave when I woke up. But came here and posted roll and felt better right away. This site is a godsend as are the people here to help you by whatever means that work. I'm focused on one day at a time and the brotherhood of this site. Thanks guys and quit on!

Apparently I don't know how to quote specific sentences within a thread.

I'm trying to quote Slim:

Hey guys thanks for all the kind words. I'm really struggling today totally in the fog. Just trying to push through.  'bang head'
drink a TON of water, it helps. Another thing that was a help to me was spending time here reading - check out the intros, hall of fame speaches, words of wisdom or just look around in the wildcard section. There is something for everyone and it does help to take your mind off the suck. Hang in there, it gets better.
+1. Spend time reading anything on KTC. It really gets the quit juices flowing and helped me develop an understanding of what was going on mentally physically and emotionally. Still does. Pick any veteran's intro and read it through from the beginning
JP, start working on getting to know your October quit brothers and get some of their numbers to call on them when the quitting seems hard, and it will. You can pm me also I'd be glad to help in any way. Freedom isn't free the cost is a lot of pain but damn well worth it. That's why I still post my promise every day and have for 477 days. I don't want that shit to get a toe hold in my life ever again. The only way that I can insure that is by quitting one day at a time with the rest of these bad ass winners.

Hey all ope everyone is well. I have been dipping since I was 20 starting slowly a can would last me two weeks and now at this point in my life I'm 31 and dipping almost a can a day. I quit Friday and through sheer will have made it to Sunday without slipping. I look forward to all help this site can provide and it helping me reach a goal I at times have thought is unattainable.
This place CAN help you, you need to take the help as offered - it's proven and it works. My guess is your goal HAS been unattainalbe, that's part of the reason you've not quit before. The goal here is one that you can make, the goal is one day nicotine free, that's the promise you make us when you post roll. It's the same promise all the members here make. We make it every day first thing. I get that you want to quit forever, so do I, that's why I'm here. In the beginning of your quit that's way too long, that's why we make a promise for today and only today. By signing up and posting with the October 13 quit group you are pledging to make that promise with your brothers. Oct. is when you will all reach HOF or 100 days quit. Worry about 100 days when you reach 99, today just worry about today. Welcome!

Jake speaks true! Jpete you got a great start on your quit! You are almost through the first 72 hours of your quit which is the physical withdrawl stage, and you are getting your first weekend of quit out of the way right off the bat! After you read the welcome center and post roll start reading everything else here. The more knowldge you get the better off you will be. Read intro threads starting from the begining, read cancer stories, print out a contract to quit and promise yourself you will sign it b4 you by another tin. PM me if you need anything. This is the hardest addiction know to man, but KTC can make it easier to quit.

Welcome. This is a good place to be quit. A lot of people have done what you are doing now and been successful. You can too. Read the welcome center up top and see what we do and why we do it. If you need anything just ask. We have people here from all walks of life who can give there own advice. Mine is..... no nicotine today! Post roll and honor your word. You can do it. Enjoy the suck and focus on one day at a time. Keep an open mind.
