Great decision akjon. I have kicked a 30+ year nicotine habit and was a can a day cope dipper for the last 7 or 8 years. As mule says get involved. This site really works. PM if I can do anything or need a phone# for emergencies. .

Well, finally pulled the trigger on kickin' the Cope out of the pocket for good as a new years resolution. Been a 1/2 can a day dipper for 25 years and now bound and determined to be done with it once and for all...... So far it's been pretty surprising. I've read alot about the withdrawls and how hard it is. So far so good for me..... that hardest part now is right after a meal or any of the other small "triggers" that really were not so apparent until now! I know that it's very possible that it can and will get harder, but truthfully at the end of day 4 and not a big deal..... I've NEVER really tried to quit before so this is a first time. anybody else like this? I read that in approx 72 hrs all the nic should be out of your system and figured that this is when all hell would break loose?! What's the deal, Is this just the calm before the storm or may I be a lucky one that MAY not have a hard time with this? I can tell you that I am VERY strong willed in what ever I choose to accomplish.... Oh wait, no the term they used for me was hard headed not strong willed!! :D
Welcome. I kicked a 29 year can/day cope habit and just celebrated a year 365 days....i had half-assed tried to quit but not really...

This place will work. Read, get involved in your group, post roll first thing in the morning and keep your word.

When it gets hard, and it will at times, especially the first 3 days, post, read, go to chat, pick a fight with a veteran, get some phone numbers, (pm me and ask and i'll give you mine) and don't be afraid to use the numbers......

We all get it, we've been there before and have survived what you will also survive.

Let's get it done.
