Thanks for the welcomes guys! I flushed the two cans I had down the latrine (my problem is I would have one right after I wake up) and won't be buying more.

If we quit first thing in the day, I should probably post in the AM right?

About me.. Well I'm 23 and from Pennsylvania. As far as profession I'm a bit of a few things (welder, electrician, etc.)

Started dipping when I was 16. You know, rough and rebellious teen. "I won't get hooked." Got to the point where if I wasn't eating, sleeping, or brushing my teeth I had a lip in.

As far as why I'm quitting.. I'm tired of dip stains on my clothes and teeth, sore gums, and dumping out nasty ass spitters.

Also gonna need to get my wisdoms out soon. I figure I'll already be in hell for that. Might as well get the mountain of this out of the way and just have a mole hill.

Out of everything though, excluding the health risks, I'm most tired of spending the money on the stuff. I was a Copenhagen Snuff dipper for 90% of my dipping "career." At around $4 per can, a can a day, for 7 years.. That's well over $10,000.. I'm big into firearms and it's depressing to think how many boom sticks I could have had haha.

So all that being said, I know it's gonna be rough. (quit once before) But if you guys will have me, I'm in it for the long haul.
I'm 51 years old and I quit 539 days ago. God knows how much money I wasted on my addiction. Probably enough to buy a few cars or a nicer house.

You will find support here, just post roll in the May quit group. It's OK to post now as long as you are nicotine free.

Make a promise every day and keep your promise, then repeat. I quit with you today!
Corryrm,
I was in the same boat as you good sir. I had a 7 year habit and started around the same time you did. I was at 2 cans a day of Grizzly Wintergreen pouches. I still have the price memorized, it was $3.14 a can. So I was spending about $6.28 a day which equates to about $16 grand.

We will quit with you each and every day.

Welcome Corryrm. If you've been lurking around here for the past two weeks, you kind of have a feel for the place. Tell us more about yourself, your addiction, and anything else you might want to share.

Also, go to the June 2017 group and post roll - your day 1. I did this 1 year ago tomorrow. Never looked back. If I can do it, you can too.

Hey guys. Been creeping around the site for the better part of two weeks now. Just decided about half an hour ago now is the time.

I quit once before. Don't remember how I got back into dipping.. I think someone died.. Anyway I'm ready to kill this filthy addiction for good.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hello and that I'm glad I'm not alone on this road.
Welcome. Today would count as your Day 1 as long as you have spit out your last dip. If that is the case, head on over to the June 2017 Pre-HOF Quit Group and post roll. There is information there on how to do it. You might screw it up at first, but the most important thing about roll is being on it.

We Quit first thing in the day - so if you are a first-shifter, post in the morning, etc.

The roll post if your promise that you will not use nicotine in any form that day.

Give it a shot. It's going to suck at first. You can do it and we're here to help. Reach out if you need anything.
