I quit May 1, 2012. I had chewed for 4 years in college and then another 2 doing my sales job. I know 6 years is like seconds to some of your streaks lol. SO glad i quit. I "quit" before but would always resume shortly after. I had quit with my buddy I played lacrosse with, but he crumbled on week 3. I find that keeping the date an anniversary really helps as each time a new month nears i automatically think of May 1. I look forward to reaching 100 days.
lax, nice job kicking nicotine to the curb. If you chose to post roll with us, great! I think August would be your group. Before you do so, I suggest reading everything in the WELCOME CENTER above, and then read everything thing in the WORDS OF WISDOM and HOF speeches. Keep reading until you're ready to give us your word not to dip today, and you understand that we will expect you to keep that word. We are in this for the long haul, not just 100 days. And we have little toleration for part time quitters. What you get in exchange for the effort is a bunch of brothers/sisters that will hold you accountable to your promise not to use nicotine today.

Welcome! PM me if I can help or answer questions.
Lax I will second everything that Zam has said. You have come along way alone, but now that you have found the site I assume that you are reaching out trying to find additional help to remain quit so you don't cave like your friend. The brotherhood that is here is a amazing experience. How total strangers pull for each other and their success is so powerful. There is strength in numbers and we can not just kick the can down the road we can KILL THE BITCH.
I'd be glad to answer any questions also. Just pm me.
