Hey MC,

As Pinched and Sir Derek have already said it was very nice to be one of the first to welcome you in chat last night. I would say I hope your doing well....but I know that you're deep in the suck by now, all I can say is that you have my number as well. Call someone today and talk a bit, break the ice, piss and moan, whatever you do just don't put that shit in your mouth today.

Stay quit today brother, you got this!

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.

MC,
It was great meeting you last night in chat. Be strong call me if you need a shoulder to lean on, a ear to bend, a guide or a swift kick in the ass.

Be strong find the alternatives today. Read the info on the site and remember you can get pissed and crabby with nicotine and yourself. It is no ones fault but your own that you are addicted. Remember to remove the DICK from addicted as we work through this.

I got your back and will support you all the way. I need you to stand on your feet and I will fight with you brother.

MC -

was great meeting you in the chat room. Yes it will be difficult, but go ahead and use this site to its fullest. When ever you get feeling anything you don't like (sad, anger, rage, cravings, whatever), get on here and read, read, read. And post up in your intro and in your group thread how you are feeling. By doing so does not make one weak, it makes one smart and wise.

This first week, keep yourself busy, keep drinking water, water and more water. Help to flush your system and get the nicotene out. Try some exercising, even if its just going for walks. Play with your kids and enjoy the time you get with them.

But remember, just do it for today. One Day. Do not think far off, do not think next week, next month or when ever in the future. Just focus on today. We all can do just about anything for 1 day.

Heck if my 42 year old, 23+ year user can do this, you can do this to.

pm me if you ever need anything.

Welcome MC  all the best to you! Your story sounds similar to mine in some ways, but it is possible to be free. I'm on day 25 today thanks to the brotherhood  experience on this site. PM away if you want numbers to text,

Great job MC577. I am a police chief and a forty year dipper. I too am surrounded with dippers but this site has brought to today where I am celebrating 200 days of quit. It is one day at a time. If you need a number to have when needed pm me and I will get my number to you.

I am new here 37 years old married man with children. Veteran and in law enforcement. Have dipped for over 20 years and am scared to death about trying to quit. I am surrounded by dippers and chewers in the workplace and have been for years. My military days were even worse. I am scared this stuff is going to kill me and I'm not going to see my kids grow up and have grandchildren.....almost like its too late what the hell just keep on dipping.

I have really felt like crap the last five years because in addition to dipping, I have been through a lot of stressful events. You name it I've been through it. I really want to quit....I have tried and never have made it past 48 hours. I hope to gain some support here because I am scared of this animal. I have been in combat, ran into burning structures and seen a lot of scary stuff. But this shit scares me .

I am open to any support I can get. Thanks
Welcome MC577,

Check out the welcome center, there is a link in the banner above. You'll get more support than you could ask for here as long as your nicotine free.

If you have already put down the dip head over to the Quit Groups and post roll with your group, you will be with the December 2013 group. We are grouped together by when your group will reach 100 days quit and reach the Hall of Fame.

Posting roll is the most important thing we do here, it is our promise to one another not to use nicotine today in any form. Integrity and honor to our word helps us stay quit one day at a time.

I'll send you a PM, check your inbox. If you need a hand posting roll the first time just let me know. We are all here ready to quit with you!
