We all think we are unique and special butterflies, but are really the same - nicotine addicts. Once I grasped that there are people like me who did the same sad, gross, and disgusting things that I did to get my fix, that is when the quit button clicked for me. You are not alone in this quit.
Some of my fondest and clearest memories are peeing in places that aren't bathrooms.

Welcome, you have made a great decision coming here. Sounna like you have already done this, but make sure you get over and read the welcome page and learn to post roll. We post every damn day and quit one day at a time. Exchange numbers with your quit brothers and read material on this site daily. We all feel your pain and everyone on here will lean out a hand to guide your quit through the early days.

Flush any remanent you have of chew tobacco down the toilet and promise us you won't use today. Welcome again, happy to quit with you today!

I am a 21+ year ex-dipper. I quit 3/18/15. I found this site after I quit, and just by watching from the sidelines, many of you have inspired me.

Like most on here, i started ridiculously way to young and was on one can a day by age 16. More recently I was using closer to two cans a day. I read the 100 reasons to quit on here and couldn't believe someone new my dirty secrets. Embarrassing things only you think you know as a junkie and try to hide. I use to go through a routine of driving to different gas stations to buy but also threw out my empties at the gas station so my wife would not see the mountain of cans in the trash.

This is my third time quitting, but my first time quitting for me! The last time I tried may have been 10 years or more ago. But only because someone else wanted me to quit, this time I shocked my wife when I looked at her and said, I quit. I could tell she wanted to ask why, but she did not want to do anything to ruin my decision. I simply told her i was tired of it. And I am for so many reasons, but as you all know the Nicotine has a way of fighting you and saying your not going to quit, who cares if your teeth hurt and your lip feels like it will fall off.

I did learn from my previous quit failures, one cheat and it is all over. You have to start all over from day 1 if you cheat. Also, you have to quit cold tukey. This site teaches this and I completely agree.

I broke one rule yesterday, i ran to the dentist thinking i had cancer, even after reading an article on here saying and explaining that you probably dont have cancer. Good news, I dont! But I had not been to the dentist in 4 years so it was a good trip anyway. hThe dentist said, have you really not come in here for 4 years because you were afraid i would yell at you. I laughed and said yes, he has no idea what being a Nic addict is like and the far more stupider things i have done to get my fix.
