Hey there, I'm a new member to this site. I'm 23 years old and have been dipping tobacco for the past 5 years. I dip about 1 can every two days and recently decided that I need to get rid of this bad habit. The need to quit first struck me when I graduated from nursing school and got my license as an RN. Most hospitals in Texas will not hire tobacco users now days. This is a lame reason to wanna quit, but now that I have a job and realize that I am only hurting myself, I have developed a strong desire to quit. If anyone has any tips or advice on how I should go about quitting I would highly appreciate it. Thanks! :-/ :'(
Turn that "desire to quit" into "actually quitting". Flush all your shit and post roll. Then you will be quit.
I'm with grizzly,, strong desire means nothing around here. Strong desire can go on for decades. You used the reason that your a nurse and a lot of hospitals are tobacco free. I also work in a tobacco free environment, which had no affect on me. I was able to hide my addiction (not habbit) with the best of them.
Quitting means just that my friend. Put down the poison and don't put in your pie hole again. How bad do you really want it is my question. With your intro I have determined I'm probably wasting my Friday morning writing a bunch a words for a slave with no testicular fortitude. Your up!
Here's my tip: flush all your poison weed down the crapper and glue your eyes to KTC. Read everything here. Start with the welcome center and then read some cancer stories; then post roll with Oct 14 and start reading some intro threads from start to current. Learn the KTC quit plan and live it. PM me if you need anything.
Here are my tips:
1. Quit putting that shit in your face, just for today
2. Post roll with us, just for today
3. Repeat tomorrow.
Glad you found us, let's do this together!
Pretty darn good advice, from some great quitters. Nice to see another "youngster" deciding to take back their freedom. I can tell you, I'm 24 and I feel so damn fortunate to have developed the accountability and friendships that I have here on KTC. Quitting so early in life is literally the best present you could give yourself. If you're serious about quitting, and need some help, shoot me a PM.
