  • Interests: I'm an ol' country boy from Texas: where I started dipping in the 8th grade over 37 years ago. The US Navy brought me to SO CAL in 1985. I got married to So CAL girl and remained here after I got out of the Navy. I love the outdoors; camping, hiking, hunting and fishing but mostly I love to do wood working. I guess now that I am not wasting money on crap I can have more to do the things I like to do.

Howdy Y'all,

I'm Adit and I live in New Jersey, from North Carolina. I've dipped and smoked cigarettes since I was 14, now I'm 18. Dipped cope and grizzly and all that chewed southern pride, red man Etc. at the peak of my using I was at a can to a can and a half a day and a half a pack to a pack a day. I'm ready to start this new phase of my life addiction free. I'm joining the navy and hoping to ship out early next year. I appreciate this website more than anything and hope to make some new, tobacco free friends.

Thanks,
Adit

Hey Adit. Sure glad you dropped by to let us know how much you appreciated the website and extending your hand in friendship to some new, tobacco free friends. Are you planning some kind of surprise party to make all these new acquaintances? Since you have only made one post here in two days and have not followed through on the requirement to post roll, I was just wondering what your intentions actually are. If it was get your quit started, you are behind the eight ball. If it was to waste our time, congratulations. Come back when you really want to put forth the effort and start your quit.

Adit,
Well brother I sure as hell hope that you are serious about thisa quit. I can only wish that when I was 18 I would have had the tools to quit that you are being presented here. Then perhaps I would have saved $65,700 at two cans a day. Unfortunately though, I was a 18 yo badass that knew everything.

You have been given some good advice so far, now let's see it.

Now read up the info on the site Welcome Center

Learn how to post roll How to Post Roll

Then post Roll here Pre-HOF February 2014 Quit Group

Post Roll daily. This is your promise to stay quit, understand that KTC is all about brotherhood and Accountability. Make sure that these words mean something to you. Also understand that all of us quitters care so when a cave happens people will take that shit personally. We invest time into people and the quit groups are like tight families of quit.

Finally, I recommend that you find an alternative, fake dip, candy, gum, mints, etc. Drink lots of water, so much that you cannot pass a bathroom without having to piss.

P.S. All of the above underlined words are links to the site.

Let's do this son,

You gonna post roll today or are you a one and done. If I missed your name on roll I stand corrected.

Welcome! Glad you're here Adit. If you haven't been already, the Welcome Center is the place to start. Post roll everyday. That's what makes this site work. Posting roll is your mainstay. Everyone here supports you. One day at a rime.
You're in the February 2014 group. Let me know if I can help.
YEs, the welcome center.. Pinkish button to the top left. It is your friend. Read everything in there and on the rest of the site, but like Hope said, pay particular attention to how to and why we post roll. It is the basis of our quits.
You are young, and the truth is, a lot of young folks have a hard time fighting through this, but if you are up to it, we are all here to support you.
Every one of us addicts on here wishes we quit sooner. You have the chance to do what we were to stupid to do.
Go post roll. THEN tell us how the quit is going so far.
No roll post yet? Hmmmm . . . take a look at this link, Navy.
Welcome Navy,
I suggest you read and then reread that link OIB sent you and when you are done rereread it. That post spells it out and echo's the feelings of a majority of us old dogs on this site. I will not lie it is not going to be easy it is going to suck. I have been thinking you really have two enemies the nic bitch and for most purposes youth is good but for quitting YOUTH will hinder you. In my history with this site I know of only one young quitter to make it to HOF. I am not trying to run you off I am spelling it out for you KTC style which is head on no bullshit.

If you want this you can do this and we do it ODAAT one day at a time. Post roll give us your word that you will not use for today only.
