Ben,

The only thing I will add to what my two brothers, Keith and AppleJack, have already said is that you need to make sure you are quitting for yourself, not your wallet or your wife or your daughter, YOU.  Trying to quit for someone or something else usually leads to a cave and/or resentment.  So make sure this quit is about you first and foremost.  Also, when the mood swings start to hit, make sure you come in here and rage at us, not your family.  We can take it, because we have been there.  Your family did not out that shit in your pie hole, you did, so don't take it out on them.

Check your inbox for my digits.

Do not be complacent about your achievements and not to strive for continual improvement when you get to the top. As soon as you let success go to your head, you sink into following familiar patterns and play it safe. In other words, you risk losing your edge.

Welcome in, bro.
I see you posted roll and got things started right!

Most excellent.

Looking at your intro, there’s a few things in your mindset that need changed... quickly.

To start with...
You’re an addict. Nicotine is your weakness. The instant you put that first dip in at age 13... your dependency began. Don’t lie to yourself. Own that fact. You became a slave at that moment.

You used the word “habit”... wrong. I’ll say it again... you’re an addict. Habits are nothing bro. Easily brushed aside or changed and forgotten. Addictions, however, take a LOT more work to manage. Lend the reason you’re here the weight that it deserves... you’re breaking the cycle of addiction and, damn, this is the right place. I chewed for longer than you’ve been alive, dude. 25 years and 2 cans a day for a good chunk of it. If I can do this... you can do this. Own it. Get involved and stay involved. This place works, man. Ask me how I know...

AJ... 2,396 days of freedom.
Well, it’s one louder, isn’t it? It’s not ten.

@BenJamin404notfound  Glad to see you posted roll. Take a look so you see where to post tomorrow. Let's set the record straight. You don't have a habit, you are a drug addict and nicotine is your drug just like the rest of us. We wake up, piss, and post our promise first thing in the morning to stay free of nicotine for the day. Then keep your promise. Wake up and do it again. Don't worry about tomorrow until tomorrow. Drink a ton of water, get extra rest, and exercise. Check your messages as other quitters will be reaching out. Only exchange digits through messages and not on the forum. Build relationships with fellow Feb quitters as well as vets with a longer track record. Life gets so much better so be patient and keep quitting one day at a time. You can do this if your follow blueprint.
