This is just my introduction.

Damn this is rough!!! Lol

My names AJ I’m from a small little town in southern Missouri. I started dipping when I was 15. Did all of the fun stuff with being new to dipping. Every flavor style and brand. Grizzly wintergreen was the best for me. I dipped everyday from 15 until about 19 when I joined the Navy and was off of it during boot camp. I didn’t really think about it while it was going on. But the second a graduated and saw someone with it I was back on it again. So from about 19 until now (I’m 25) I’ve been dipping again. I never realized how bad it was or how bad it messed my mouth up until I got hit in the face at work and broke one of my front teeth and now I’m probably going to be paying about 1700 bucks to get one tooth fixed! Ain’t that some shit? But that was probably the knock in the head I needed because I quit dipping Monday August 31st, so it’s been 3 days. Headaches anxiety and hunger have been the worst parts about it. Last night was the first night I couldn’t sleep at all in a long time. I was in the military I should be able to sleep anywhere at anytime ya know? Lol but I would say the anxiety is the toughest out of everything. I have a million things on my mind a nicotine and tobacco are one of them. I’ve got patches and the grinds coffee pouches that are helping pretty well. I just feel really distant, unfocused, and grumpy. But I like to think I’m stubborn and can get through it. Being out of the Navy now and being on my own doing this SUCKS. I thought staying busy at work would help me not think about it and it has but dips just been in the back of my head since Monday. But I’m staying positive. If anybody has some tips or tricks, they’re appreciated
Welcome AJ! You've come to the right place.

First off, you mention patches. Assuming these are nicotine patches, you may have quit dipping but you are still poisoning yourself with nicotine which is the common enemy. And since KTC is a zero nicotine, cold turkey site, you will need to throw away/flush anything you have that contains nicotine before you start posting and engaging on here. Once you've done that, hop over to the December 2020 group and post your Day 1.

The process here is simple - you post your promise not to use nicotine in ANY form early in the morning each day. You then keep that promise for 24 hours. We only worry about what we can control which is today, and let tomorrow take care of itself. Once you post that Day 1, starts to share your digits using the "My Messages" feature in the top tool bar (or envelope icon if you are on your phone) with your fellow quitters. This is an accountability site so you must be willing to not only be held accountable but hold other accountable as well.

The Grinds (or any other fake substitute with zero nicotine or tobacco) are acceptable here. Drink lots of water and try to stay active and exercise. Share your victories and frustrations here on the forum; there is wealth of knowledge here and everyone can relate to what you are going through.
