A large part of the effectiveness of KTC is Roll Call - placing your name and number of days quit on a list with other quitters. This simple act brings two crucial weapons in the war against nicotine: Accountability and Brotherhood.

When you post-roll for today, understand that you just made a promise to the folks that posted before you and those that will join you on roll call throughout the day. The promise is that you will not use nicotine today, no matter what today brings. Each new day brings a new promise, so there is no need to worry about tomorrow. Today, you are accountable to everyone on your roll call, and everyone on your roll call is accountable to you. It is no different than looking every roll poster in the eye and shaking their hand and giving your word to them and they to you.

Those folks posting with you- some have more days quit, some less, a collection of very different people coming from a wide variety of places and backgrounds. Despite those differences, we have one thing in common with you- we battle our addiction to nicotine. All those names on roll call- we are your brothers and sisters. What each of us could not do on our own, we are able to do with the help of those that post-roll with us- defeat our addiction to nicotine one day at a time. Needless to say, the better you get to know the folks on roll call, the stronger your accountability is to them, and, as a result, the more helpful these brothers and sisters are in your journey for freedom from addiction.

So jump into the life of quit, post-roll, honor that promise, and repeat.

See you on roll,

It is very simple! We quit for today! We wake up! Do it again tomorrow!! One day at a time!
We walk in each others quit shoes, it may be a little different but ultimately the same exact thing

"Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers."
