Peace and happiness. Something we can all have more of. Something we can never have enough of. Ironically, peace and happiness are things that we can not get as a gift from a friend, hope or wish for, or ask God to just grant them to us. It is something we have to earn, it is something we have to make for ourselves by listening to what we know to be right and wrong. It requires making decisions and acting on them.
On my 40th birthday, I sat down and listed the things that either added peace and happiness to my life, or subtracted peace and happiness from my life. I promised myself to do more of what added, and eliminate that which subtracted. In all too many aspects of my life, I found addition by subtraction to add the most to my life. Nicotine however, took 3 years to tackle.
I know that God has a plan for me and He is preparing me for something. I am not sure what he wants from me, nor what it will require of me. I only know that He has allowed me 100 days quit for a reason. He has shown me just a hint of my internal strength and ability when I listen to what He wants me to do. I know once again, the peace and happiness that follows obedience. And I look forward to His next calling of me.
I sit here 100 days quit. I realize that is all it is. 100 days behind me. A lifetime ahead of me. And I will take it one day at a time.
Thanks for the help, the support, and the accountability.

By the way, I would wake up and piss, PRAY, then post. Middle one seemed pretty important and helpful to me.
